Coble left the Northwestern program under curious circumstances. It was reported that he was giving up basketball to concentrate on his education. Now, there is a different spin on his departure. Coble claims he left the team because of a dispute with Coach Carmody about whether or not he should join the team on a basketball trip to Europe.

Wouldn't it be great if Carmody invited Coble to rejoin the team??

There might be more facets to this story, but regardless, Carmody's form here seems to be very poor. I liked Coble and his story (in reference to taking time away from the game to take care of his mother) and hope he gets another chance to play again. That will not be at NW -- there's no way Carmody is going to kneel to Coble and ask for his forgiveness or whatever the hell happened here. Coble's done at NW.

He has the length, skill and shooting ability to make a career overseas, though, and that's likely where he'll end up.

That was weird. All I had read of it was a brief blurb in Buckeye Sports Bulletin a couple weeks back where it mentioned he was no longer with the team, but in school. I think it was Shurna saying that the guys on the team really hadn't had any recent contact with him.
