I thought I heard at the end of the year he was 1st or 2nd in 10 out of the 12 major pitching categories, or something like that.
Honestly, Im glad they are moving away from wins as the major player. It is the second most overrated stat in todays baseball to BA. Felix was the best pitcher this season, no question.

Since when is the Cy Young Award a team award? Wins are a team component.

Indeed. You can lose while giving up 0 earned runs. You can win giving up 10 earned runs (or more). Wins are definitely overrated as far as the Cy Young award goes.

All you baseball "purists" finally have your day in the sun. For the rest of us normal folk who actually have lives, don't live with our Moms and procreate with memebers of the opposite sex...I'll say it again...Joke Award.

I'm still trying to figure out what thinking wins are overrated for a pitcher has anything to do with my living situation and sexual preference...

Agreed. It reminded me of the year that Kevin Millwood had as an Indian where he only had like 9 wins and an ERA of 2 or so.

Just because it is true for me, doesnt mean it is true for all. Though all my friends are nerds who love cock and also still live with their parents.

More than you could possibly know. I always thought the reason I divorced my ex was because of her destructive habits. I now know that it was because I like stats and therefore am a big ghey and she got into drugs as a way to blunt the pain of living with something with my life habits.

I'm trying to figure out why you're trying to make sense of a Tiernan post. The only thing that ever makes consistent sense in his posts are the rules violations.

Where did Jared Weaver finish? If Hernandez wins it at 13-12 with all other numbers dominating....Wever should've been top 5.
Lester was 4th?
Was Nolan Ryan in the top 20 in 1987?
I understand why he won....but I don't like it.

...and lord knows ol' Turd Ferguson is all about "maintaining" the sacred rules. We were all just having some fun here until you stuck your idiocy into the convo.ts1227;564690 wrote:I'm trying to figure out why you're trying to make sense of a Tiernan post. lol....Weaver was 5th and Nolan Ryan in 1987 at 8-15 finished 5th....behind 16-16 Orel Hershiser who was 4th
I would've went Price 1st, Sabathia 2nd and Felix 3rd
If Lee stayed in Seattle, Felix would not have won cause his teammate would've had the same stats.
Honestly, I haven't delved into the numbers much....but how many times did Hernandez give up 3 or less and lose? What is the average ERA in Safeco compared to Yankee stadium or Tampa?
How do you factor in Hernandez facing his division and Sabathia having to face the offenses of Toronto, Rays and Sox and Price facing the Yankees, Red Sox and Blue Jays...all of which have big offensive parks....these are considerable factors IMO.

Felix was lights out vs. the East. Something like 5-1 with a sub 2.00 ERA. The best pitcher won the award, no doubt about it.
