Talking with my friend about how ridiculous 1995 was...Forrest Gump won over Shawshank Redemption (best movie of all time, imo) and Pulp Fiction.

What other years were there really good movies that didn't win?

1939: Gone With the Wind beat The Wizard of Oz, Of Mice and Men, Mr. Smith Goes to Washington, and Wuthering Heights.

1997, Boogie Nights, L.A. Confidential, Sweet Hereafter, Jackie Brown (underrated Tarantino gem)

1995 was good, Pulp should have won, Shawshank is a great film. Forrest Gump IMO hasn't stood the time test, seems dated and cheesy.

1993 doesnt have a bunch that everyone likes, but it has a bunch of my favorites:
