D4S,

125 will be a tough tough weight class fro the MSL! Isnt Macioce allowed to go to 119 though???
The majority of these guys are "allowed to go to 119"....but whether they do or not is another matter

fairfield union is a little better this year than what they were last year. since alex has graduated the only consistently good wrestler that they still have would probably be tyler seum.

Dad4Sports;631894 wrote:125 is shaping up to be quite a battle when the league matches begin soon. Smoot, Hutchins (2X SQ), and Ankrom (2X SQ) are all ranked #1 in their respective divisions in the coaches polls. Add in senior transfer Macioce (D1 DQ last year....pinning Cole Nace for sectional 3rd) at Logan Elm, and freshman phenom Knul from Circleville and you have a heck of a group. Dilley from AC has been tough, and Rhoades (DQ) from Hamilton Township is eligible to drop to 125.......so potentially 7 out of the 8 teams have quality kids at this weight. Of course, with the dual format, coaches may move guys around for team reasons.....OR with the Thursday (league)/Sat (tourney) turn-around some may not be able to hold their weight for 3 consecutive days. But all-in-all this shapes up to be a great league season......

Circleville is at Lancaster Friday night, and I believe Garcia is going to 112, Knul will be at 119 and Kerns at 125. Possibly matchups Spearman 112, Strope 119, and Davis at 125. And I cant forget about Holloway vs Deluse at 130. These two battled a few time in Jr High with both winning a match or two.

I was not able to attend, however I heard there were some very good matches. Lancaster won dual 31-25 I believe. Lancaster won at 112, 125, 130, 140(c-ville kid pinned lancaster kid but got dis-qualified after match and points were taken away) 171, 189 (cville ford was not in lineup) and 215. Thats all I know for sure.

Lancaster won 31-25. Circleville lost 3 team points and after scoring a pin at 40 was ejected, the 6 team points were removed. There was several close matches. Kern lost to strope 9-6.
I don't have all of Lancaster's kids names, I only got a weigh-in sheet of the entire team and not the actual lineup for the dual.

112 lancaster by pin
119 knul by forfit
125 Strope L over kern 9-6
130 L over holloway 15-4
135 Davis over Deluse L 6-1
140 Bastian by pin but points removed after being DQ
145 L over Dietrich 8-3
152 Otero over L 14-4
160 Griffin over L 12-5
171 L over J davis pin
189 L forfeit
215 L over worthington 11-10
H Dylan ford over L by pin
103 Cummings over L by pin

Actually Strope won 9-4. He cut Kerns twice and gave up a takedown. Some of those other scores are also slightly off. I think Lancaster majored at 145 and Circleville majored at 160.

After seeing what Lancaster did to Gahanna, IMO that's not a bad showing by the Tigers......

Jan 20th at C-ville

5PM, I believe TV vs LE is first match.

Should be a great event, come out and watch and help us fight Childhood Cancer! Rumor is the C-ville Cheerleaders will be on hand! I know many teams back in the day had cheerleaders at wrestling meets, does anyone know off hand if C-ville ever had them?

The stat book in my hand shows Lancaster with 3 takedows 2 escapes and a penalty point, Kern scored 1 takedown 3 escapes and a penilty point. 9-6.
145, lancaster 3 takedows 2 escapes, circleville 1 takedown 1escape 8-3
160, lancaster 2 takedows 1 escape, Circleville 4 takedows 2 escapes and a 2 point near fall. 12-5

If your book show's different have coach spires give me a call, Thanks!

Thursday starts things off in the league (hopefully no weather problems this time). Hamilton Township hosts Canal Winchester & Logan Elm. Where is everyone else going to be?

I'm hearing Amanda is very young with some good freshmen & Sophmores... I believe I've seen most of them wrestle against Lancaster's little leaguers a few years back...

I know everyone pretty much knows this but Ankrom is a stud, I doubt he loses in league mathces, he used to come into Lancaster and wrestle our boys, hardly no one could beat him.

Circleville came to Lancaster and looked really good as well, MSL has some tough teams this year.

My guesses. How do Canal and Hamilton match up? Teays Valley/BC/FU might be the fastest tri in the history of wrestling.
