I couldn't find the original thread so I decided to start this one. Has anyone been watching this show? I think it's alright but nothing like they advertise it to be. The whole "If 24 and Lost had a baby" deal is just extremely wrong. It's no where near the caliber of Lost or 24.

I watch it, but echo your sentiments. LOST is my favorite show of all time, and 24 is a close second. The writing and acting on the Event is nowhere near these two shows.

Im enjoying it. I think they will improve the writing and weed out the acting will get better. The first season of LOST I thought had some shotty acting (writing was always excellent though). 24 had the WORST acting of a long running show in history, and the plot lines and acting were the same all the time. 24 had some great seasons, but they rehashed storylines like never before, not to mention Jack Bauer said "Damnit, Chloe!" 1,000,000,000 times.

I'm liking it. It's a combination of being entertaining, and just wanting to know what happens. It's not the greatest but it's got me hooked.

Man I believe LOST and 24 had the best acting in the history of network television. Very very good actors (minus Chloe and the last 3 seasons of 24). Emmys abound for both shows.

Haven't watched the Event at all. Doesn't sound like I'm missing much.
Agree with 24 acting being horrible. Outside of Keifer, the acting was marginal at best on the show. There were a few good actors, but a lot of the major role players brought in each season were terrible. Plus, the writing was often insulting to the viewer's intelligence. It was usually very entertaining, though, to just veg out and watch some good action. Keifer really made that entire show.

I watched the first couple of episodes then stopped caring.
Best show on TV right now IMO is The Walking Dead.. Or the other two AMC shows.

I like it more than both Lost and 24, but I guess I'm in the minority. Definitely my favorite show of the new season . . . though I also liked Lone Star, which lasted all of 2 episodes, so what do I know. Can't wait for Friday Night Lights to return to NBC next year.
Also, for those who enjoy 80's sitcoms, check out the Hub (111 on Time Warner), it airs The Wonder Years, Family Ties, Doogie Howser and Happy Days, nightly.
