Not sure if anyone has posted this or not, I'm too lazy to search...

But the NHL ASG is now going to be a true pick up game. 2 captains for each side will "draft" players for their team.

Not really a hockey fan, but love the idea. The only other league that could do fun ideas like this is the NBA, and they don't.

I love this idea.

Instead of drafting, have all the players throw their sticks in the middle of the ice and have the captains choose that way.

This is such an awesome idea. It will be a lot of fun to see who picks who. I think this would work best in the NBA and they should really look into it.

Stupid idea. No one cares about the NHL All-Star game and this won't change anything. I'd rather watch the skills competition anyway.

They are trying to change it up and I like the thinking just not sure it will work out. I love hockey but they need to stop thinking like they are the best sport, the NFL will always be king in the USA.

I love the idea. Not a NHL fan at all, but the all-star game will be pretty intriguing. Would love to see this in the NBA and MLB

It was a generlazation ya hosa. I was pointing out that Hockey thinks they are the best sport and until they put it on ESPN HD instead of Versus and a myriad of other things hockey will always be hot and cold. They didn't do a good job of gaining more than a casual fan after the momentum of the Olympics.

I'd prefer the NHL sticking with the VS instead of going to ESPN. In the year before the lockout ESPN treated the NHL like a red-headed step child.

I really have to disagree that hockey thinks they are the best sport (i.e. better than the NFL). I don't think that could be any further from the truth.

As he should. Having success is all about copying others successes.

There should be no imitation necessary. The NBA should have beat them to the punch. This idea has been floating around for years.

I have no idea where he is getting that from. I'm not even a huge hockey fan, and I don't see what the fuck that guy is talking about.

Interesting idea. All-Star Games in general, whatever the sport, are boring and worthless so why not try something different.

The Skills competition is all I really care for but, this year could be intresting.

Maybe not the "best" sport per say but the Stanley Cup is the hardest trophy to win in all of sports IMO.

I never got the impression that "hockey" thinks it is the best sport.

As for the topic at hand, I love the idea.

And I"m definitely excited about the Blue Jackets this year... I was at the 8-1 victory over the St. Louis Blues and had a blast there; I'm definitely going to have to make it too a couple more games... I just wish they would bring down the ticket prices a little to hopefully fill up the arena more.

Ummm, you can get yourself tickets for $10. What more do you want?
