the Dolphins have benched Henne and have elected to start Pennington this week against the Titans.

I guess it was a bad time for me to pick Henne up in Fantasy.

and he's right. Henne is not getting it done right now. 7th best defense in the league and 31st ranked offense will lead to a 4-4 record. 4-4 records lead to 6-10 records in the AFC East. 6-10 records lead to bitching fans and fired coaches. this had to be done.

I can't see Pennington being better than Henne.

I actually think this is pretty big news. Miami has a lot of pieces in place, but in order for them to take that next step they need a QB. They were hoping it was Henne, but apparently it's not. Now where do they go?

As long as Miami's offensive game plan does not call for any pass plays of more than 7 or so yards, he'll do just fine.

7 yards? Pennington's arm must be feeling really good if he can manage to get the ball that far down field.

I'm thinking that with his lack of playing time recently, he ought to be really fresh and be good for a couple of games full of 7-yard throws before he starts to break down and winds up separating his shoulder and snapping his clavicle trying to throw the ball.

I wonder how strong his left arm is? He may look like Gibby when he throws and the spiral won't be the tightest, but I bet he can really stretch the field southpaw.

this is my concern dynasty.
The dolphins are in worse shape than many people thought. i don't want to waste another draft pick on a QB (and let's face it every time they draft a QB recently it's been a wasted pick), but sooner or later it's got to be addressed.
I just think there are bigger holes on the team that could be addressed in the draft (like CB *Peterson* or OG *Pouncey*). but if henne's not the answer now is the time to act on it.

Henne has all the physical tools, but even back in college it didn't seem like he could ever put it all together. I just don't know where they turn to? I agree that they have enough pieces in place where it would be hard to draft a QB and give him time to grow. Do they go after someone like McNabb this offseason?

Kolb/Vick? Or are they both untouchable?

I was going to mention them. I think becomes a free agent after this season. He'll command a lot of money and the Eagles can afford to have him and Kolb now, because neither is making a ton of money, but that will change.
And if you are the #1 free agent QB this offseason, is there anything more desirable than Miami?

not sure how I'd feel about either.
kolb is injury prone. vick is too unpredictable.
it's tough. also i'm not really certain how injury prone kolb is since he is playing behind an o-line that doesn't appear to be too formidable.

Reid also throws the ball more often than any coach in NFL history if I heard correctly. I'd think if Kolb has a solid running game to lean on and not have to throw the ball 40 times a game, he'd be able to stay healthy.

As of now it would hard to top Miami. Maybe Minnesota assuming Favre and Childress are both gone. Solid defense, great RB, and if Rice is healthy 2 good options on the outside and Shiancoe is a solid TE.
