Has Pick Central lost the swagger? They dropped 20 some spots in the rival's 100. I heard they were pushed around by Troy's big fellas up front.

Every team has a week where they aren't as sharp. This was our off week. Honestly, the worst thing to happen this past week was to jump out to a 14-0 lead with 5:00 to go in the 1st quarter. You could tell by body language that the Tigers let up. They went into half time up 24-0. Typically Central has dominated the 3rd quarter, but they seemed to relax a bit and Troy didn't roll over like some recent Tigers' opponents. Troy played hard to the end.

The Tigers gave up 3 yards rushing.... and the defense allowed no points for the 7th time in 10 games... so I have a hard time classifying this as being "pushed around."

Ask Westerville South if they think Central has lost the swagger...

I'm a Pick North dad, but Central is doing a tremendous job of representing our town. They have great talent and their coaching staff is top notch. I think I'll go to the Davidson tilt on Friday. They'll have to find a large enough stadium to hold the crowd...since the Crew doesn't have anything going...how about their place?

It could be argued that this game is equivalent to the State final game...these teams are that good.

Thank you. It's good to have support from across town. I coached a lot of kids in youth football who play for North now... so I'd be rooting for North if the roles were reversed.

I believe after round 1 games, the OHSAA has made turf fields almost mandatory. Who knows, maybe they're willing to change their minds, if both teams are willing, I don't see why not. This would be a great place to play the game. Two extremely good teams, at a large arena. I say go for it.

Chances are Davidson vs. Pick Central will be at UA, just like it was 2 years ago in the R3 final.

Davidson wins this one. Brian White and crew put a real sleeper of a game on Pick Central. Talk about watching paint dry. Davidson always seems to find a way to win, but talk about boring football. Snooooorrrrrrrreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Crew Stadium also charges more for their facility than the typical playoff-suitable high school facility. Economics play a role..

If you go Friday, you shouldn't have trouble getting a good seat. :)

Walt - why did PC on 4th and 6 throw a pass to the backup TE when they are loaded with talent everywhere?

Are you implying that the tight end is not talented? Nothing could be further from the truth. That particular player is a very good athlete...a three sport talent who is also very good on the hardwood and the baseball diamond. He's not been utilized often in a receiving role this year, but he's got talent. To this point he's been primarily utilized as a blocking TE.

At that point I believe the game was firmly in Central's control. If I had to guess there are probably two reasons to run that play. First, element of surprise...that would be the last option a defense would look to cover. And second, at that point in the game the coaches may have been looking for things to put on film for Davidson. In other words now Davidson has to account for the pass to the TE. Just another thing they'll have to spend valuable practice time working on this week.

Walt don't you people who make those statements? ;)

Reason: it's good football. It's great play calling. Why force it to someone if you don't have to? Options are an offensive coordinators dream.

Walt, No no!! Don't think I am calling out a young man working his tail off. I am sure the TE is a very good athlete. I dont think that one play is going to chang HD's preparation at all. A team as diciplined as HD prepares for the TE regardless of opponent. I personally think PC could and should be able to spread out HD roll the QB to the right and be productive - and yes the TE can be very good weapon. I think most High School defenses are vulnerable (including HD) in the middle of the field. Throwing to the TE on the sideline on 4th and 6 doesnt make much sense to me regardless of who the player is.

Yes he does. In Pickerington we don't like to use the words "love," "like," and "hate" in front of people. It's a Pickerington thing.

X's and O's can be debated through basketball season - not having that discussion.

Still not clear, I didnt use "love" "hate" etc. A simple question was asked and answered. It may be good football but it is far from "great" (and I thought people in Pick didnt use those type of words) play calling.

Should be a hell of a game. After that, let's ALL root for a DI champ from R3.
