It points to the relative parity we now see in Division 1 football. Frankly it's a healthy thing for the game because it shows that even a Boise State can now climb to the top. What goes around, comes around. It always does!

Wrong. It only APPEARS to show the relative parity in college football. What it really shows is that many of the traditional powers are having down years and that some of the new comers have moved near the top, but in the end it will still be two traditional programs from major conferences battling for the National Title.

Florida is ranked. Why? I couldn't tell you. But they are.

Because voters saw them score 55 and said "damn, how can we not rank them?"

Ty Webb, Gibby, Blanket, Mike Clark and whatever other screen names he has were all given ceremonial votes in this weeks poll. It was part of ESPN's Make A Wish series. Chris Connelly will deliver the heart warming story on tonight's Sportscenter.

One of the two NC teams will come from "major" conferences this year. TCU or Boise could be the wild card...easily. I hope so.

The current BCS "system" is the most biased, unfair method of determining a national champion in college sports IMHO. The ONLY "fair" way to give the so-called mid-major conferences a crack at the national title is a playoff system.

But since money talks, alleged BCS conferences like the ACC and Big East get an unreasonable advantage over the MWC, WAC, etc. in getting national exposure.

The system is a sham and a shame.

I can tell you. It's because Florida is in the superior and always speedy SEC. Their mid-tier teams would probably win outright Big 10, Pac 10 or Big 12 championships. Plus ESPN and CBS get multiple orgasms when they speak the name "Florida". It's a sad but hard fact of life.

Does that help?

I'm actually pulling for Auburn and/or Oregon to drop a game before the end of the season just to see what will happen. If TCU and Boise are undefeated and we have two 11-1 teams in the National Championship the BCS might just explode.

Given the fact that we're not going to see a play-off anytime soon, I think the BCS does about as well as any possible system could possibly do. There is a very good amount of checks and balances that go into its' determination, better than anything we've ever seen before.

That said though, I would be all for getting rid of the AQ status, for anyone.

Psst... There really is no National title. Paper champions do not count even with the help of a computer.

Because the BCS and voting system is a total joke. That's why.

Apparently you don't remember the Bowl Alliance then. Back then you had to play in the SEC, Big XII, Big East, or ACC to win the Coaches Trophy.
