No. That is nuts. It ruins Thanksgiving and the time that is supposed to be designated for Christmas.

Christmas does not exist until the day after Thanksgiving. Its like hiding the easter candy before Valentines day. Do people shoot off fireworks on May 4th? STOP THE INSANITY!!!! I'm waiting for stores to have Christmas all year long.

I don't believe any Christmas decorations should be put up before Thanksgiving...it is just wrong. I agree that the day after is fine to start.

Guys I agree... the reasoning from my wife is... my daughter in Chicago is coming home for thanksgiving and my wife want her to enjoy the decoration ..... She wants the formal living room tree up and the Muffy VanderBear (North American Bear Company) tree up (collection of all the Christmas Bears)

What the hell ..... each tree takes two days to put up ....

Reason for not putting up (artificial) trees?

Come on guys I need help to battle the evil forces of Christmas anticipation

We had a family in our church that used to have elaborate themed trees in each room of their house so they would begin decorating them on early October because it would take so long to get them all done.

Honestly, I think that the only Christmas decorations that should be up before Thanksgiving are Christmas lights because you don't want to wait until it's too cold to hang them. However, they should not be turned on before Thanksgiving.

Now, if you are having family over on Thanksgiving and you're going to do Christmas with them then, then I think it would be okay to put up a few decorations, but put them up the week of, not three weeks before.

My mom is having me put up the tree within the week. She is a Christmas person. I'm not particularly but it doesn't bother me and she likes it.

Belly.. Man up and toe the line HERE. This is reindeer's nose in the tent...

If you give in here, next comes the Christmas music piped into every room in the house starting on Halloween night... then the taped Andy Williams Christmas Specials on the DVD player mid September.

In three years, a Christmas tree in every room, set up by Labor Day.

Finally - you have to dress as Santa Claus every day after Thanksgiving.

At this point, you will be stripped of your Man Card, and cast into the outer darkness of German Village wearing nothing but a pair of red felt boxer shorts and a green pair of elf slippers (along with a sprig of mistletoe stapled to your navel).

Fight the good fight, brother!

My mom has a mini 4 foot tree that she puts up in the basement every year on top of their big screen. She usually does it around this time, BUT it's a Michigan/OSU tree with ornaments of both. We are Michigan fans and my step dad is an OSU fan. They have the House Divided Flag up on the wall and the tree is the centerpiece to the Michigan/OSU shrine. Obviously she does it so early because it's leading up to The Game.

Ah, yes, Belly-San...

It is true that the scent of pine needles has an aphrodisiac-like effect on the female of the species - as long as you drive a hard bargain. This is how Lady D'Friskies' black leather elf outfit came to be...

"Alright chop down that tree and bring it in here. Take all these lights and put them out there. Oh, I got to get a job."

Make sure you all decorate your trees for Jesus. :D
