According to the US Fish & Wildlife Services - there were 18.4M "licensed" hunters and fishermen registered in 2010. That is less than 6% of the total population. Yet there is currently over 42 hrs of hunting a fishing related shows on cable each week. Who's watching these things (and) Why?

"Son!"

Occasionally I will watch a few minutes here and there... I suppose people who like to fish and hunt watch them. Every sports channel thinks they need their "outdoor shows" Kind of like the beer companies... how many light beers does the world need, but every company has them...

BTW... I do/did fish and hunt, but have not done so in nearly twenty years... Just do not have the time.

The only thing more boring than hunting and fishing is watching it on tv.

I fish a lot. I hunt maybe once or twice a year.

I do not watch fishing or hunting shows anymore. When I was a kid I watched a bunch of TNN. Al Lindner and company kept me entertained in the mornings.

I'm addicted to River Monsters. It's not your traditional Fishing/Hunting program, but some of the fish that guy hauls in are nuts!

I watch them, Saturday mornings on ESPN2. More so the fishing shows. It's not for everyone, but I like it. Especially the salt-water ones.

I just got done watching an hours worth of Hunting but switched when Seinfeld came on. I watch a lot on early Sat and Sun mornings before the family wake up.

All right, if it's late and I'm flipping through channels, and River Monsters is on, I may at least see what creature they are trying to catch. Not into the shows where they catch 50 fish in 5 minutes. On river monsters, he is only going after one fish, and it might be some big fish I have never even heard of.
