I will say this, I think the Heat are in some trouble. I'm not buying the "it takes time to gel" argument anymore. These guys have had enough time. Mike Miller and Eric Dampier arent going to make that big of a difference
The Heat showed a sign of greatness against Orlando the first time, but that was it. I do think it will take more time to gel, but they are obviously starting to feel some pressure. And I disagree about Miller. I think he is as big of a piece as Bosh is.

I was so mad when the Cavs picked him up in the draft, he was one of my favorite college players and the Suns were a few picks behind Cleveland and they would of fit Shannons style PERFECT.

I loved that they drafted him, but he didn't show anything to prove that he belonged. Some guys just take longer to develop. Can't fault the Cavs for giving up on him when they did. However, you can give Brown credit for his work ethic and refocusing.

Not everyone. How many coaches have come out and spoke their mind so directly like Jackson? His team couldn't have less to do with the Heat right now. They haven't faced them yet and won't for another month. I think that's what makes it interesting.

The thing with Phil Jackson is he doesn't say anything to the media without thinking about it. For whatever reason, what he said was said strategically. Maybe he wants to cause further turmoil or pressure. Maybe he wants Riley to take ownership for this teams failures, up to this point.

Who knows why he said what he did, but it is very interesting coming from Jackson.

I agree Dynasty. Everything Phil says to the media is thought about and clearly has a meaning that is unknown to us. And I can't wait for everyone to chime in with the "Phil should worry about his team" and all that shit.

I don't think you'll hear too much backlash (I say that without having turned on ESPN this morning so who knows) It's true, he SHOULD worry about the Lakers, but no one cares because A) Everyone is already thinking what he said, B) Everyone hates the Heat so he could call them a bunch of fuckers and everyone's going to agree anyways, and C) The Lakers are 13-2

lol Stan Fat Ass calls Phil's comments "ignorant" and "inappropriate" regarding the Heat coaching situation. But it's OK for him to comment on Phil's comments??? Pot, meet kettle. God I can't stand either of the Van Gundys anymore.

Celtics already w/o Rondo, Perkins & Jermaine O'Neal ---- Delonte West went back to the locker room with a possible broken wrist ---- Boston down 8 @home vs. NJ and playing like absolute shit after dominating Atlanta on the road.

I would agree but I would flip the C's and the Spurs.

And also, I don't think I have Miami in the top 10 right now.....

I have a take on Phil's comments regarding the Heat

By saying that this could turn into the Stan Van Gundy thing all over again, (of course Van Gundy says he resigned) this puts Pat Riley in a position to stay in the box. Riley would have to think twice about coming out in fear of making Phil right, which, who really cares, but I think Phil would rather not face a Heat team led by Riley. So in essence Phil is trying to keep Pat upstairs and Spoelestra on the floor. He might as well do what ever he can to ensure a repeat by the Lakers, and not facing Riley sure does help imo.

Ill be honest. I really don't think Pat Riley is going to be the answer for this team.

A lot of people thought they would be ok with Bron running point. Well those people are totally 100% wrong. People thought that without a post presence they would be ok. Well those people are wrong. I realize its only 15 games and a 3 game losing streak isn't the end of the world. But it is rather comical to see all these people have to back track on the "best team ever" bullshit.

I don't know wildcats, watching the game last night against Orlando made me think Riley COULD be the answer. There are just too many players right now on that team that have the "same game". Spoelestra seems to not have the ability to mold these, persuade or otherwise alter any of their styles of play. True, it's only 15 games. Bron is chuckin it from deep, Bosh can't play the 5 with consistency, and obviously doesn't want to. Wade seems only to be "Wade" when Bron is on the bench...players they counted on to be roll players are injured...this team is fucked up. Spoelestra looks clueless.

Ytown I think it's more than that.

Look at the 3 superteams in the NBA, and the makeup of each.

Heat: 2 superstars and 1 all star, but all in their prime.
Lakers: 1 superstar, 1 all star (maybe 2 in LO this year), and a bunch of superb role players.
Celtics: 4 all stars, 3 of which were out of their prime when the Big 3 was made.

The point I'm making is the reason the Celtics were so successful with their Big 3 is because they were all in the declining stages of their careers, and MUCH more willing to take a reduced role to do whatever it took to win, and it worked. If Pierce has an off game? Allen and Garnett step up.

But with the Heat? Everyone is still in their prime and from the look of things so far absolutely refuse to concede their ability to anyone else. How do I know this? There's no reasonable explanation of why Lebron and Wade are -25 when it's just them and not Bosh on the floor.

For that main reason (and the lack of a championship worthy interior presence), I just think no matter who coaches it won't matter. Lebron and Wade are much better running their own team than trying to be on each others, and I just don't see that changing.

the Lakers and the Celtics also dont have their stars in the same role. You have Gasol and Bryant (post and guard) and Lamar on the wing. Celtics you have Garnett, Peirce, Allen, and Rondo (post, guard, wing, and pg). With the Heat you basically have 2 wings, and Bosh while in Toronto went out to the wing and took people off the dribble a lot. Not the same type of player as KG or Gasol at all. His game doesnt mesh well with 2 other wing type players.

Yeah that too, very valid point.


Those two factors (yours and mine) are my reasoning of why I don't see the Heat winning ANY championship until the Celtics/Lakers are dismantled, and even then I think the next superteam is OKC because of Westbrook and Durant.
