This has been the rumor for awhile but now its official for all you EVO and Epic owners. Tech blogs should be picking up this news fairly soon so stay tuned for a link.

Not officially. It's being tested so yes you can pick up a signal, but its not officially live until Dec 1.

Only in Kenwood and one other location (Mason, maybe).

What's the deal with Verizon and 4G? I read in the Dispatch about it about a month ago.
Another question for the people that follow the tech news, the Droid Pro is coming to Verizon on November 11th (not sure if that's official or a rumor), what are people's thoughts on it and once 4G does come out, will they also have to release new phones with the capabilities?

I would bet that HTC and Samsung will both release 4g phones around the time 4g goes mainstream. Verizon is pissing me off...they said that they would have all these towers turned on in Oct...now they are hoping to have them around the end of the year. I fucking hate this company, but they are the only one that have at least a little reception around my family's area.
No offense to Motorola, but I am now a HTC for life guy...I never had any luck with the motorola phones.

So, I'm currently eligible for an upgrade and have been postponing it until the end of the year to see what new phones come out. I have an old Blackberry Curve and the reason I like the Droid Pro so much is because of the keyboard.
Should I get that on November 11th, regardless of the 4G. Or am I better off waiting until 4G is official and getting a phone that supports it at that time?

Personally, I would wait to hear what Verizon requires....as in, is there more charges for 4g like what Sprint did? Unless you don't have a problem with an extra charge....Also, isn't the Droid Pro's catch is that it is a "International phone" or is that another one? I usually keep an eye on Phandroid or androidcentral, they always keep up on the rumors of new phones that are going to be released.

This is the next HTC phone...not sure of the specs on it though.

Also, it looks like the EVOesque device that was leaked about a month ago is the Incredible HD. I have a feeling this will be that 4g phone.

Droid Pro is a great phone. Got to play with one earlier this month and I really liked it. Drawback is that when 4g rolls out for VZW, this phone won't be capable of those speeds. The plus is that for 95% of the customers...they won't care about that. The phone is already really fast, and the data speeds are more than adequate for anything you are trying to do on the device. It's Android 2.2.1...which means there are enhanced email capabilities, better IT support, and a smoother sync with exchange servers. And yes...it is a global device.
It's a great phone, and the idea behind it is that it has all the business solutions you need, and the entertainment solutions you want. You could hold out for different devices...but by then something else will be announced and you're going to keep chasing the next best thing.
Back to the original topic..........
Glad to hear that Sprint is finally going 4g here in Cincy. Now I can download things faster on my i1.........wait a second...........shit.
