How in the hades? Didn't they lose to Heidelberg or something?
Has to be a BCS conspiracy to say Boise played a ranked team.

I got a chuckle out of this one. Only in a parallel universe would a BCS conspiracy benefit Boise State or any other non AQ team

I know. I just can't see how they are ranked.

They have won 5 straight and look like a completely different team. Plus, they are only 25th, not like 20th.
I see no problem with it. Plus, they could still win the ACC.

and beat Florida in the Capital One bowl.
VT, like Michigan that year, is a completely improved team.

Ok, so if VT wins every game the rest of the year and wins the ACC, since they lost to JMU, they still should not be ranked?
BTW, they are up 14-0 on Duke. If they win, they will be 6-2 ,with 6 straight wins.

Duke is a basketball school, they have a good kicker thats it. Florida St will win the ACC. Improving or not thats the worst loss in college football this year even worse than Ole Miss losing to Jville St.

Agreed it was the worst loss. But, even if VT plays Florida St. in the ACC title game, they shouldn't be ranked? Come on...

Sorry gerb you can't use your logic. Especially not in college football. Teams win one week and then turn around lose inexplicably the next. That's why we need a playoff. Voters in regions around the US can't possibly sort all this out.

gerb - Your opinion might mean more if you say who should be ranked ahead of them and why.

Yeah, they are ranked number 25, so barely and for the first time.
Who should be ahead of them?

USC belongs there before Va Tech without a doubt and I'd even go so far to put Oregon State ahead of them, despite having three losses, at least they've beaten some decent teams.

If VaTech had bounced back from those two losses and knocked off some good teams, it'd be one thing, but they haven't. Their biggest win is against an ok NC State team.

A resume of Losing to Boise State and James Madison with no big wins does not merit being ranked at this time...

Northwestern, they didn't lose to James Madison.

Ok, I'll agree with you on that one. USC and Oregon St. should be ranked. OSU has lost 3 games, including last week though.

USC is ineligible for the Coaches poll and BCS. Oregon State is a stretch - they just lost their 3rd game (they aren't going to stay ahead of anyone at that point), though they have the better single win (Arizona).

Northwestern has no good wins either; NC State isn't a great win, but they were undefeated at the time. I'd probably agree with Northwestern, but I get why they aren't higher coming off the loss last week (remember, Va Tech has reeled off 6 straight).

Kansas State is another? Only one loss, but they were destroyed in that game. At least Va Tech is only a couple plays from being undefeated.
