My wife recently got a mac for work to check one out... She is running a windows system for work on the mac. The pc portion of the computer has been infected with some type of virus that starts spewing out noises and will even repeat something you just said.... faster and faster. Really freaked me out. Anybody else had to deal with this issue? She thinks it came from facebook perhaps.
Please... I do not want everyone to get in a mac/pc pissing contest again... thanks in advance for any insight into current virus/worms one may know about.

Hit that shit with combofix. You'll be playing games and right-clicking in no time:

Also: Viruses tend to get in via outdated software, specifically Java, Adobe Reader, and outdated Flash. You know how it always nags you when you first boot? It's doing it for a reason.

Or try to do a system restore to a date before the virus hit. You won't lose any documents you've created.

Brief rundown of steps:
1) Make sure Vista "Take Control" is enabled by patching registry.
2) Isolate prefs.exe using Regrun reanimator.
3) Have reanimator delete prefs.exe on next boot.
4) Reboot, should get message before Vista loads saying prefs.exe was deleted.
5) Navigate to C:\Windows\System32
6) "Take Control" of Indt2.sys by right clicking and selecting "Take Control"
7) Delete Indt2.sys
8) Empty the recycle bin to flush that nasty file away.
Your annoying sounds should be gone after that.
