ST. MARYS, Ga. -- A man went to a hotel early Saturday looking for his cheating wife.

He never did find her, but instead found himself on a trip to the emergency room, St. Marys police said.

Police said Ajumu Myers went to a hotel room at the Cumberland Inn and Suites banging on the door because he thought his wife was in the room with another man. But police said he couldn't have been more wrong.

"The occupants of the room were vacationers from South Carolina," St. Marys Lt. Johnny Guy said. "They explained or told (Myers) they didn't know who he was and he needed to leave."

But he didn't, police said.

Police said the terrified couple staying in the room repeatedly told Myers he had the wrong room, but it wasn't enough.

Police said while the couple waited for help, Michael Hines, the man inside, got his gun, fearing what was about to happen next.

Police said Myers grabbed a fire extinguisher and broke the glass to the window and climbed into the room. He was met with a .40-caliber handgun, and Hines shot Myers once in the hip, police said.

Burglary and property damage charges are pending against Myers. He is expected to recover from the shooting.

Hines did have a concealed weapons permit, but the district attorney's office will determine whether he'll face charges, police said.

No one has been arrested yet.
Priceless!! I hope there doesn't end up being charges against the vacationers!!
