Anyone else get their electricity via AEP? I rent a 600 sq ft 1 bedroom apartment, and my October bill is $160. Higher than any bill I've had during the summer months, damn near double. My heat is gas, from Columbia Gas.
Anyone else's bill gone up this month? I figure it should be going down because I'm using less and less AC. I barely cook on my stove, so it's not on. Everything else is always on (cable, fridge, computer) all year round anyway.

The past three months, for a 2 bedroom apartment, our aep bill has been like 270-300 range...for our 3 bedroom house we had the previous two years, the bill was around 100 a month. So yeah, we have definitely seen an increase in prices.

Was it an actual reading? I think AEP might estimate charges for two months and do any actual reading every third month. Your current bill might be adjusted due to them underestimating your usage.

Ohio still has some of the cheapest power rates in the nation - avg. $.075 / kWh. Noo Yawkers pay on avg. $.18/kWh...so quit your bitchin.

^^well I don't live in New York, so I really don't give a rats ass what they pay. I pay bills here, and that seems a little high for my small place.
Not sure if it's an actual reading, I get e-billing via Checkfree so they don't show the actual bill. I'll have to log into my account and take a look when I get home.

Did your rate or usage increase? Isn't AEP's rates increasing over the next couple years?

If it is an estimate reading, October/November are notoriously over estimated with the anticipation of increased heating cost. I have yet to kick on my furnace. AEP loves the cash advance from its millions of pre-winter customers.
