Cleveland Browns Question

Going into this year the biggest needs we had were WR, LB, and DB.

Why do we always pass on the talent to try and develop young guys into starters? It obviously doesn't work because everyone leaves Cleveland and plays so much better.

We could of had the opportunity to sign:

WR- Brandon Marshall
WR- Anquan Boldin
WR- Santonio Holmes
WR- Terrell Owens
WR- Kassim Osgood
CB- Cromartie
CB- Dre Bly
S- Darren Sharper
DE/OLB- Jason Taylor
RB- ladanian Tomlinson
RB- Thomas Jones
LB- Joey Porter
LB- Karlos Dansby
LB- Larry Foote
LB- Keith Bullock

OR we could be trading for Vincent Jackson or Shaun Meriman, even Randy Moss.

Why is Cleveland so afraid to bring big name players in? They say they are committed to winning, but I just don't see it! It frustrates me as all these teams sign 2-3 big name players every offseason to make their team better. Why not get some playmakers in here to help all of our young guys learn the NFL game. We just settle for undrafted guys that the coaches stumble upon...

Oh, and another thing. Is anyone else getting tired of trading with the same three teams everytime we look for a trade.....Jets, Eagles, and Seahawks.

Dear Cleveland Browns Front Office,

There are more NFL teams out there with talent on them, spend some money and get some real talent here!

Didn't the Browns trade for Shaun Rogers once before?

Didn't they just bring in Sheldon Brown and Scott Fujita?

I mean, I understand where you're coming from, but first things first... Getting a franchise QB. You don't sign or trade for those, you draft them.

Our secondary is getting better each week, and our defense is actually pretty damn good for a change.

Our offense needs work because it's too one dimensional, but I'd rather see the Browns built right by building through the draft and adding the rest through FA and trade... The last thing we need is for Holmgren to try ad build this team back in 1 year. Savage tried that once already and it failed.... miserably.

I'm not saying we had to get everyone of those players, but a true #1 receiver would've been nice. But even our drafts since we came back have not been that great, I mean look at who we could've gotten instead of drafting Masaquoi and Robiskie. Clay Mathews, Brian Cushing, Ray Mauluga. I think you build your O and D line, and QB through the draft, but you can trade for any other position, and build your team.

I see where you are coming from, yes we got Fujita, Brown, and Rogers. With the exception of Rogers, they are not in the same catagory as those players on that list.

We could also use a new O-Coordinator too, but that's another subject for another day. haha, can you tell I'm frustrated?

Mauluga yes but those other two were first rounders. We would have had to sacrifice picking Mack for Cushing or Matthews. That would go against your next sentence. I'm as frustrated as the next fan but free agency isn't always the way. Phil Savage tried to neglect the draft for trades and free agency and I think that hurt us more than what we are trying to do now. Based on our draft position if we can get Andrew Luck I would like us to draft him and trade for Vincent Jackson. Hell I say take a flyer on Merriman too. San Diego doesn't like to pay guys and rather say the guy is a liability due to injuries and it worked out for LT and Drew Brees with their new teams.

Exactly both those chargers really want out of there, and they are both playmakers that we could use. Are we trying to lose to get a top 3 pick so we can get Andrew Luck? You never know, remember the cavs the season before they got Lebron.

It's not about money. Clevelands salary cap hit this year is the exact same as Pittsburgh and Baltimore.

Yeah, but why not trade for a pro bowl WR?

What's the difference in what're have now and osgood?

The only difference is the browns are paying undrafted players off the street and Baltimore and Pittsburgh are paying pro bowlers!

I just wonder when Cleveland fans will quit posting. I mean you're so irrelevant in the grand scheme of things.

Unless a player is at the end of his career and willing to sign with anyone what attracts a quality FA to Cleveland?

I am not trying to be negative but you want to go to a team with dogshit ownership and coaching staff? If you don't perform up to your previous all star performance you get crucified in the media and by te fans. You are surrounded by mediocre on field talent at best. There are other teams offering a better situation for similar money with a lot less drama.

There is no difference between what we have and Osgood, and that's exactly my point. If you're going to sign someone, at least try and upgrade the slightest little bit. What makes you think a 30 year old receiver who's career high in receptions for a season is 15, is going to help us?

Why trade away future draft picks when they are not close to competing?

You might want to change your last sentence to Baltimore and Pittsburgh are drafting pro bowlers.

My thoughts exactly. No sense in giving away any picks. We all knew they are starting from ground zero again.

Ringz, you are exactly right! Until we win with what we got for more than one season, and make some noise in the playoffs nobody will want to come here.

Art Modell that is right again, the Steelers and Ravens know how to draft talent, and the Browns know how to keep it away!
