The gist of the article is that the government in their wisdom rushed ahead with the "emergency" legislation and as a result 72,000 dead people received a stimulus payment. Man, I bet that money really helped stimulate the economy. Wow, way to go government. I can feel the efficiency from here.

Also, note that apparently being in prison you can still receive a government bailout. I bet the illegal contraband black market got a big boost in the joint. Thank you government.
Dead people were ineligible to get the payments. But, the report said, there is no provision in the law to recover payments incorrectly sent to dead people.

They are just paying off their dead voters, just like the unions, trial lawyers, and ACORN. It's just politics...what are so upset about? They've been doing these things for years and years...it's the way it is. Look the other way like we've been doing for decades, OK?

Is this really surprising?

This is the same government that had the treasury secretary (Hank Paulson) show up on Capital hill with a 3 page bill asking for $700 Billion within a week or the world was going to end and they gave it to him.

The idiocy of our government knows no bounds.

Why not--- the dead and the people in prison likely were registered and voted democrat anyway (Wink, wink).

Oh I think it's possible 72,000 people died the day the checks were cut but do I think it's probable?

Even if some of them did, don't you think a smart government would have thought about that and made a provision to get the money back? Wow, and these people are supposed to be the brightest in the country. Yeah, right.

Bomber, so is your point adding to, or taking away, from government efficiency? I guess I'm just not understanding anything today lol
