Newest MTV Challenge started tonight at 10. I'm not into Real World or Road Rules or whatever, but for some reason I always watch these challenges. Anybody else?

The Challenges are by far my favorite. I still watch all the Real Worlds (I think because then I actually know who they people are when the Challenges roll around -- who I like, who I hate, etc.), but without question the Challenges are the best!

Challenges are great entertainment.

Bill Simmons from ESPN always gets into these and had TJ Lavin as a guest on his podcast last week which was pretty good. He asked TJ what would happen if there was a Mitchell Report on these guys and Lavin just laughed and said there would be no challenge. All the guys are on the juice. He also said he gets an evening after report each morning telling him what happened in the house the night before so he knows who is fueding, who is hooking up, etc. It would be hilarious to see those emails each morning.

Karen, I'm with you. I've never watched Road Rule and I've never watched more than a few episodes of the Real World, but I love the challenges. I'm a big Survivor fan, so I think I like it because if it's similarities to Survivor, but the cast is essentially the same every time. I've even got several old seasons of challenges on my external hard drive. I haven't enjoyed the last few seasons as much because it's been essentially the same people running everything the same way. Also, all of the old people who used to make the show interesting (Beth, Trichelle, Coral, The Miz, Mark, etc) are gone now.

You watch these shows, and are thus the audience that gives an incentive for MTV to continue making them. As such...I hate you.

I don't watch much Jersey Shore, but I think it would be a genius idea to add the jersey shore cast to the challenges. It would definitely shake things up.

haha, I wouldn't be shocked if it happens once the Shore stops filming new seasons. I follow those guys on twitter (yeah, I know) and a couple of them had tweets last night saying they wanted to be on the next challenge.

I was thinking the same thing. I've never seen Jersey Shore, but like i said, I've never watched Road Rules or the Real World either. I think it would be hilarious to see Snookie and some of those roided up guys on one of the challenges.

I finally got around to watching the premier episode on DVR last night (which btw, MTV tends to start all of their shows a minuter later than the guide says, so if you record something on their, adjust your DVR accordingly - it cut off the end of the show even though I had it set up to record an extra minute and I had to finish online to see which girl got kicked off). I must say that I'm pretty pleased with the cast this season and with the concept. I'm bummed Evan isn't on the show, but I think this is going to be a good entertaining group, and MTV seems to be stepping up the challenges this year, as the gas chamber challenge looked pretty difficult and intense.

Favorite line so far..."I will kill you in your face!!"

Also, if Danny and Melinda can't make it together...there is no hope for love.

Big Easy needs to go. Dude almost died on the show. He says he lost 30 pounds or whatever, well he is still 80 pounds overweight.
