Anyone in the Cleveland area have any ties to this company? I find it odd that a company the size of Cleveland Ship is looking to purchase 3 Northrop Grumman shipyards and 2 subsidiaries.

Not someone I would want running a company.Per Wikpedia Renold Thompson Jr. ran National City Bank until the federal goverment took it over. Irony is that in his bio on Clevland's website they fail to mention the name National City bank, probably out of embarassment of taking a bank that started in 1845 and ran it into the ground by doing bad mortgage deals. The bank was forced to be sold to PNC for $5.4 Billion. As a major stock holder.... he made out pretty well.

One thing to keep in mind, Northrop Grumman in Newport News is currently the only one that builds aircraft carriers and one of two that builds submarines for the Navy.
