*** The Pickerington Tigers are 3-0 in league play.

The Groveport Madison Cruisers will have their toughest test to date this year come this Friday night. Tough enough to play a road game in the OCC Ohio. Tougher still to do it AT Pickerington Central's "Keaton Anderson Stadium" and play on "Brad Harris Field". But the toughest yet is to do so against the currently number 5 team in the state. And a TEAM that seems to be hitting on all cylinders.

The Cruisers are coming off of a Homecoming Game victory over the Newark Wildcats, by the score of 35-12. That total helped to increase the average margin of victory up to 7 points (29-22). They'll need to play an amazingly tight and focused game if they are going to overcome the odds, the environment and the Tigers on Friday.

As for those Pickerington Central Tigers, they have been a well-oiled machine, playing as a unit, since the first game of the season. To give a piece of datum to back this claim, the Tigers do NOT have one player listed among the leaders in the areas of passing, rushing and receiving. However, somewhere around number 15, they do have one player listed for scoring... That would be Speedy Hammond. What does this mean??? It means that eleven members are playing as one unit, especially when you consider that this team that lacks an area leader has put up 187 points (to an opposing 22!!!). This means they have a number of weapons - and are using them - instead of one person shouldering the load.

While the odds seem stacked against the Cruiser - and the rest of the OCC Ohio - this Friday night at 7:30pm at Keaton Anderson Stadium, two teams will face off in a test of wills.

Good luck, Tigers and Go CRUISERS!!!!!!!

Cruiser 96 said it well. The Tigers are playing as a team. Almost every play 3-5 players run off and on the field. Unless your good at keeping track of numbers you don't know who carried the ball until the announcer tells you. Personally I recognize speedy because I've seen him play for three years. The defense is swarming and gives most offensive co-ordinators fits. I've heard Gport is pretty big and pretty fast. Central will have to match their athleticism to win by a margin they are used to. Central gave up a couple big plays in the Oscar Smith game which may encourage Gport to try a couple post routes.

Groveport doesn't score over 10 points. 41-7 Central wins.

That could be the case. Not too many have scored on them yet.

You were WAY off... 45-7. Nice try. ;)

Hats off to Pick. Central. They are playing as well as anybody in the OCC-Ohio, the region, and if my scope wasn't so limited, I'd have more confidence in suggesting the entire state.

To the Cruisers... Weep for an evening, for work cometh in the morn.

Go CRUISERS!!!

Just never really cared for the lax "open enrollment" policies of the Picktown SD. I know, I know your coaches & kids are not doing anything that is not allowed, but you all go about your business with a little wink and a nod.

Westerville South's Italian Stallion (his words...not mine) does the same thing. He manages to somehow get kids who never sniffed an 'A' in middle school into the academically advanced International Studies program which is only offered at South. And in the meantime North hasn't won a game since Geo Bush was Pres. Kids should go to the school they are geographically assigned to...period.

Well Lakewood would not see the Tigers until the State title game....but Colrain would see them Week 14. I really think the Tigers, will handle Colrain.
