As a trivia sidenote, the actor who played ol' Mr. Potter (Lionel Barrymore) is Drew Barrymore's great-uncle.

Isn't it amazing. No sex, no violence, shot in "living black and white", some might even call it corny or old fashioned but although the film is 63 years old, it never seems to get old for me. it's just a wonderful Christmas movie plus I've always loved the work of Jimmy Stewart and he is tremendous in the role of George Bailey. I watch "A Christmas Carol" as well, and it doesn't matter who plays Scrooge...it's another Film Classic of the season. (But I really love the version where George C. Scott portrays Ebeneezer.)

I "make" my family watch this and they bitch and moan, but I think deep down, they really love it.

I love this movie and Miracle, but the guys fight tooth and nail on these. However, we sit down together to watch Christmas Vacation, Christmas Story, Muppet Christmas Carol, Rudolph, Santa Claus is Coming to Town, Jingle All The Way, and a few others. Even at with the boy at 16, Christmas is one of the few times that we can all sit down and watch movies and everyone really enjoys themselves. I love it!
