This is the first major holiday I've missed with my family. I'm sure the first of many. I also am on duty so I don't get to eat any good food. I hope everyone out there has a great Thanksgiving and appreciate spending time with family and friends.

Happy Thanksgiving Free Huddle.

Yeah...I got a blah one too.

My first time away from my family too. It sucks.

It'll be alright though. I'll have a good Christmas break with them.

The only thing that'll make this one (a little) better is if my Packers win!

As an Army vet I don't want to appear like I'm dissing ya, but I remember the Army putting out a huge spread on Thanksgiving and the chow was pretty damned good!

Thanks for your service!

I didn't spend last Thanksgiving with my family, but I did the rest of the weekend so I really don't count it. This year I don't get to do Thanksgiving or Christmas...or even the weekends....thanks work.

Have a Happy Thanksgiving Ytowngirl!

As a veteran, I want to thank you for your service. I always feel good when people say that to me and it's people like you that we should be thankful for!

It wasn't until my 3rd year in the Military that I got to spend Thanksgiving with my wife and kid. First Thanksgiving I was at Tech School and the second one I was in Korea.

I always thought it was neat getting served by Officers on Thanksgiving. At least that what they did in the Air Force.

Yea, I remember that too. It was cool. It was the one time they served we enlisted. LOL

Your welcome. I was just able to eat a pretty good meal provided by the USO and all their volunteers :)

Spending holidays away from the family sucks. It sounds a little cold, but you kind of get used to it after the first few.

Like you, I'm also sitting here posting on duty. Too bad the ship didn't have any big Thanksgiving meal planned for us. I'm thinkin we may run out and grab some pizza later.

well its just as bad as when they plan something and it takes almost 2 hours of standing in line to get it. when i was in iraq they had a special meal but there was no way i was going to wait in line that long.

Now that we're back in port special meals aren't too bad (line wise that is). Underway it was a different story. Even something as "special" as pizza night on most Fridays had terrible lines. At least because of my rank (E6) I get head-of-line privelages at the galley.
