2. He was an asshole in making his point with the "real nice moderating" comment. Someone should PM him and tell him to ask nicely, using the "P" word.

I agree with the sentiment that in general if you call someone a fucking moron, you consent to being called a fucking moron. If you can dish it you can take it. But to the person that first made the offense I punish him rather than the person that followed up. That's how I view the unwarranted part. But I also make a general note to the second person to watch the name calling.
