very out of the ordinary for UA...like the article said its been 7 years since the UAPD have had to do a homicide investigation...something really eerie/weird about this...the boys were 8 and 5 and the mother came home to find the father and 2 boys dead..very very very sad, RIP

Dear God, an old boss of mine walked in on his murdered girlfriend and her son about seven years ago in the Clintonville area, and that story instantly reminded me of his ordeal. So sad, and very unusual for UA indeed.

Man, that is terrible. I couldn't imagine coming home to something like that.

UA would be the last place I would think something like that would happen. Can't imagine what that would be like.

Don't mean to sound insincere, but this wreaks of murder/suicide. I will be surprised if they find any foul play.

With the current state of the economy its not too surprising an upper class area like UA would have this happen. Assuming its suicide

Interesting story.
And just an FYI, this Arlington home was worth around $200,000. I wanted to look it up, because there are million dollar homes in Arlington and then some pretty modest one's like this. Not that it makes a difference, but interesting to know.

Or as Cat Food would call it the Golden Ghettos.

I don't know the family, but they don't live far from my house. I am hearing murder suicide more often as the day progresses. This is horrible, especially in the community which I live. I am sure I will run into someone who knows them.

We had a husband and wife murder suicide in my town a month and a half ago. The people involved were the last people you would ever have guessed would be involved with something like that

I don't understand killing the kids. If you want to kill yourself, so be it....but taking innocent children with you? That's about as shitty of a move as there is.
Being a father I know that my sons trust 2 people on earth with all of their hearts, my wife and myself. What they were put through (if the murder/suicide is confirmed) is unimaginable. It had to be the scariest thing on earth and there is no way I could see my children in that much fear.

Shocking and sad....... hard to believe something like this could happen in the community i grew up in. My thoughts are with the mother and relatives of the deceased.

The link in the original post is now calling it an "apparent murder/suicide."
What a fuck.

Why exactly do you say that? There is no reason to think any social class or race or whatever is above something like this. It was a violent crime against his family, but it's not like he went out and affected others in the community (and I mean that in the most simple way, I know it affects a lot of different people).

I'm guessing because its where he grew up. I was born and raised in a city very similar to UA up in NE, Ohio and I would be shocked if something like this happened in my neighborhood. I think that goes for just about everybody on here. This is absolutely terrible. I work in UA and we had quite a few patients that were clearly shaken up. This is awful. My prayers are with the family.

I merely meant that during my time in Arlington (about 20 years), as far as I can remember, nothing like this has happened. That is why I found it so shocking and hard to believe.

UANyg - truth be told, I would guess that there are probably as many dysfunctional families out here in Yuppie Paradise as in most communities - although having at least a little extra money may reduce the stress a bit. I think there is just more pressure to keep up the appearances and cover things up.
My wife's family in KY, on the other hand, has no problem just letting things rip in front of the whole damm world. I could probably market their Facebook exchanges to Comedy Central.
