This was discussed awhile ago but Saban says it's likely going to happen.

Anyone know what the future looks like at quarterback for Alabama?

Phillip Sims is a true freshman this year. He was the #1 ranked QB in last year's class by several publications.

They also have a couple of redshirt freshmen on the roster, but I don't know if they are better than Sims.

Could be the Denard Robinson or Devin Gardner show...

But that's a LONG ass time from now, both programs could be drastically different by then.

Will Saban be there in 2012 or will he leave for more money?

This would be Robinson senior year and I actually think it will be a good game. Michigan won't stay down forever, and I really believe RichRod has the Maize and Blue going in the right direction. This will be a rematch of the 2000 Orange Bowl when Michigan beat Bama 35-34 in overtime.

Where would he go for more money? He already tried the NFL.

My first thought when i read this...Saban will probably be at USC or ND by then.

My second thought...who wants to watch the Tide blow out Michigan on national TV at a neutral field in prime time. I'd rather watch NASCAR. or Antiques Roadshow.

"Probably for sure..."

Is that a Yogi Berra quote?

did i read this right... michigan will be the home team in dallas....then alabama will be the home team in ATL the following year?? if so, just another SEC team completely dodging coming north.

I agree. Playing in Cowboy Stadium is awesome, but I'd rather have a home and home series.

This is kinda like the LSU vs. Oregon game in Texas next year. Kind of a weird spot to have teams that arent from that state play in.

As much as I would enjoy seeing another scUM beatdown...why would their AD "Pizza Boy" fall into this SEC trap? You have the largest stadium in CFB numnutz... Make 'Bama come play in it! My God some people are stupid.

Because this is Jerry Jones' deal. This is not about Michigan and Alabama calling each other wanting to play. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

My God some people are stupid.

fwiw, Saban won't bring his team up here to play--he's coached up north, and he knows the unpredictability of the weather..you think he's going to set himself up for that??

I don't think anyone is afraid of the northern weather in early-mid September.

scUM can't make even MORE money if they stayed home? Pizza Boy should call their bluff and say sure let's go home & home, and if you wanna play your home date in Dallas knock yourselves out but home our game will be in good ol' Ann Arbor. Gene Smith would never fall for this BS.

I don't remember the word afraid being used, but I still believe the mindset is there concerning the possibility of bad weather (among other things).

also, IMO, tsun will be much better in '12, and even though it pains me to say it, I'd love to see them take it to 'Bama

No, you're right. Gene Smith would never sell out OSU's uniforms to Nike for MONEY. Get real.

This is a Jerry Jones created game....the game wouldn't happen if it wasn't for Jerry...so home and home wasn't an option...There is more money in this deal I assure you, than a home and home would generate....

I don't care why they do it, I love when the traditional powers in college football meet in the preseason. If it happens, I say good for them and good for whoever made it happen. I'd probably have to root for Michigan just because I'm sick of hearing how great the SEC is.

Hopefully by then UM puts together some resemblance of a defense.
