SHELBY -- Upper Sandusky dug themselves a hole by halftime, falling behind by 29 points, and could not recover as Shelby defeated the Rams 63-13 in a Northern Ohio League football game Friday evening.
Upper Sandusky (0-4, 0-2 NOL) is still searching for the its first win of the season. Shelby is now 4-1, 2-0 NOL.
Gyen Musgrave scored twice for the Rams, kicking field goals of 31 and 26 yards. Steve Nye scored on a 1-yard run in the fourth quarter.
Shelby's Zach Strine scored on rushes of 41, 7 and 25 yards. Zach Yates returned a 92-yard kickoff for a TD and scored on carries of 58 and 63 yards. Denver Burks, Carl Weaver and Alex Milliron each scored on a 3-yard rush.
Strine and Yates combined for 306 yards rushing for the Whippets.
Upper Sandusky's Cale Sandridge was 18 of 28 passing for 151 yards while trevor Thornton had seven rushes for 26 yards.
