If Riverdale doesn't shore up the run defense, it may be another 49-42 shootout. CC runs runs runs!

NORTH ROBINSON — For the second week in a row, a Riverdale comeback attempt fell just short as Colonel Crawford held off the Falcons 28-22 in a key North Central Confernce game.
Trailing 28-22, Riverdale (3-2 overall, 0-2 NCC) recovered a fumble on its own 25-yard line and Falcons marched 60 yards into Eagles territory.
But Brady Weber’s pass on fourth down with five seconds remaining in the fourth quarter was batted down to end the game.
Riverdale started out hot early and jumped to a 16-0 lead as Weber threw touchdown passes to Austin Cook (8 yards) and Anthony Fox (7 yards) with Steven Rahn recording a safety in between.
But Colonel Crawford’s Brandon Robinson propelled the Eagles to 28 unanswered points.
Robinson, the NCC’s second-leading rusher, ran for touchdowns of 69, 49 and 1 yard before the half.
Colonel Crawford (4-1, 2-0) quarterback Nate Klingenberger then plunged in from a yard out giving the Eagles a 28-16 lead going in to the final quarter.
Weber found Rahn for a 30-yard touchdown strike early on in the fourth bringing the Falcons within a touchdown before their late comeback attempt came up short.
Robinson finished with 237 yards rushing for Colonel Crawford.
Weber was 26 of 50 passing for 234 yards, but he threw three interceptions.
Steven Rahn caught 10 passes for 117 yards for the Falcons, which will host NCC power Wynford next week.
