Moving to DC for a job in a few weeks and need some help on where to look for apartments. Have been skimming craigslist for roommates and not coming up with much. Any chatters know of any places I could be looking?

I have a buddy who is a member on here and lives in DC. He doesn't post that often/if at all anymore, and I'm not sure how much he even lurks but I will talk to him and see if he can offer any info.

I used to live at the meridian at courthouse a few years back, I would love to find something in Arlington that is reasonably priced, any insight of where to look?

Look in Crystal City area....alot of good apartments there....best to stay out of DC in my opinion....

Yeah, I'm just by Silver Spring, inside DC.
It depends on where you are working. I mean, are you on working in Virginia, Maryland, or DC? Also, how do you expect to get to work (car or metro). If you want to metro, it is best to live within a mile of a station.

Price wise, the expensive areas are anything in Northern Virginia really, the Bethesda area in Maryland, most of the NW area near Georgetown in DC is somewhat pricey.
Cheap areas are my area, near Silver Spring, but also inside DC, the area near Columbia Heights (crime is spotty), near Adams Morgan is alright, and the area near Mount Vernon Square.
Apartments near Woodley Park, Cleveland Park, and American University are pretty good too.

Stay away from SE DC, as it is not really safe, and most of the areas east of Eastern Market area.

It's a great area, great food, great drinks, great music, sports are ehhh, but I love it here.
