I can't believe I am even typing that given what a pariah he was a few seasons ago, but should they consider bringing him in this off season when he is a free agent?

He will just be turning 31 during the next training camp, so he has probably a 5-6 year window of still being able to play at a high level especially since he had all that time off mid career where he wasn't taking much of a pounding. So in that respect, it is not just a short stop gap measure as he could be a longer term solution at the position.

Mangini won't make it through the year, and you know whoever Holmgren hires will be a disciple of his tree and will probably run an offense very similar to what he has been doing with Andy Reid/Marty Mornhinweg (both of the Holmgren tree) the past 2 years so it wouldn't be a huge transition.

From what we have seen of Vick this year, he seems to have really matured as a passer and can still make things happen with his legs when necessary. He was rusty last year, but has clearly gotten his legs/feel back this year.

Since he is a free agent, and QB's are so hard to find I would actually be in favor of it at this point. If nothing else, it would make them much more interesting offensively than the misery we are continually subjected to as well as giving them a chance to win immediately. He is still young enough that it could fill the position for a while, and he seems to have really grown as a QB compared to the guy we saw in Atlanta. 2 years with Andy Reid/MM is bound to improve a QB as they are fantastic teachers of the position.

I will always think the guy is a scum bag because of the dog fighting, but he has paid his dues to society and deserves a second chance. He can still play, and in this league that is the most important thing. He is in his prime, and it is rare to have happen with a free agent QB.

The playing it safe route is getting this team no where fast, so I think it is about time to start taking some chances and this might be a good place to start.

If the price is right. If not, let some other team overpay for him.

He is a scumbag, but it should not have anything to do with talent acquisitions. Plenty of scumbags have won a SB.

Being able to routinely murder dogs, esp in the grotesque manner of which he did it, speaks volumes of his "humanity". Guy is a grade a pos and want him no where near the dawg pound. You're obv trolling like usual and even more moronic than usual.

Looks like his point sailed over your head. The Browns suck at developing franchise QBs. That was his point.

I do. You're blowing a load in your pants off of one good game against one of the worst defenses in the league with a loaded offensive team. He has none of those luxuries in Cleveland. Now here's your fail respond post saying that he adds something for the defense to prepare for, talk about his past success in Atlanta which doesn't translates he was a shitty QB who barely completed 50% of his passes, he'll be 31 now, and how he paid his debt to society, but you're wrong. So just save me and the other posters from having to ignore you.

Nope I got it, it just didnt apply to the topic and was a dumbass statement. Sorry we didnt develop the likes of Charlie Frye, Tim Couch, the Ass Clown Derek Anderson, or Brady Quinn. All of which went on to have stellar NFL careers so it was obviously the Browns development and not piss poor drafting. Oh wait they all sucked after leaving the browns? Ok, must have been the terrible drafting.

So...what exactly is the topic?? Since you're the one who brought up developing a quarterback....

no its bc you want to make Mike Vick our QB because he threw for 270 yds against Detroit with FAR better weapons than we can even dream. You guys are being dumb. Vick is not the answer. He was a very mediocre QB (at best, bottom of the league in completion percentage as a starter). Stop being so delusional.

Topic is thank god you dont make personnel decisions for the browns. I can see your thought process now, "Wow! ESPN 25 sec highlights showed that Vick is the best QB ever! Even though he is being benched the next game for Kevin Kolb. Hes the answer the to the browns prayers!"
