If you haven't heard, the FDA is deciding if salmon that have been genetically modified to grow twice as fast as normal salmon should be allowed to be sold for consumption.

Would you buy/eat the genetically modified salmon should it come on the market?

Most of us eat genetically modified tomatoes (a small snipit of DNA has been flipped so it does not rippen and spoil before it makes it to the store), so I'll try it. If you ever eaten any fish out of Lake Erie then you've eaten a lot worse than these salmon!

all cereals, breads, etc contain genetically modified corn/wheat...i would be willing to bet 75% of the food you eat is contains a genetically modified ingredients (unless you buy organic) and you can take that to the bankkkkk

Farmed salmon is never as good as wild salmon. But yeah, in a pinch I'd settle for doped up fish.

btw, Sockeye is the way to go

If it tastes like Salmon then I don't see why I wouldn't eat it.

why not? if it looks like a fish, lives like a fish, and tastes like a fish, heck yeah.

I'm waiting for the day that they can genetically engineer chicken/fish to taste like steak!

But seriously, I usually only eat fish if I go to a nice restaurant, so hopefully they won't be serving some cheap fish. And I hardly ever get salmon.
