Shannon Scott, the #7 ranked point guard in the class of 2011 according to Scout.com, has verbally committed to Ohio State. Scott, the son of former UNC star, Charlie Scott, becomes the Buckeyes’ first member for the class of 2011 and chose OSU over offers from Clemson, USC, Oregon State, Georgia Tech, and others.

Looks solid, hopefully he lives up to expectations. Since Conley, Matta hasnt exactly had good luck with Pg's

#12 player overall nationally by Scout.com

huge upgrade at the PG position. Craft is gritty and solid but he wasn't the long term answer. Scott will be able to drive the machine we should have with all the talent around him when he gets here.

Love that Matta knew exactly what position was in the most need. Craft will be okay, but he's not an elite PG that many teams have that are going to make runs in the tournament. Plus, OSU will be relying heavily on him as a freshman, which isn't a good sign.

I hope this works out as well as it should according to how high he is rated.

this is definitely the perfect start to the 2011 class. i took a deep sigh of relief when i heard of his commitment. not to mention all the other top recruits he plays with that he's already stated he's working on to come to OSU.

Craft isn't the elite PG, exactly how many games has he played for OSU?

Rankings mean nothing imo.

And of course the PG spot is the main target. When you have Turner running the point and no real starting worthy PG, you better be working on getting some into the program.
