Free License Plates

I’m not one for entitlements but this one works of me.
Over the past 40 years I have purchase many a vehicles and I never knew this until last Friday.
I could have been getting my license plate for free all this time… Who Knew?

I bought a new truck and wanted to get some plates because my 30 day tag will be expired soon.
I thought it would be nice to get a military license plate so I took my DD 214 and ask for Vietnam Plate…

Here is where it get good she tell me I can get Special Honor Plates
(Special Honor Plates are those in the Military that have earned for example: Silver Star, Bronze Star, and Purple Heart and or other awards listed) …. FOR FREE…. My Plates will not cost me anything? Correct

So for any of you other Veterans with Honorable Special Award listed on you DD 214 …Free Plates…..













Note: If the award is not listed on your DD -214 you can bring in the Award Certification and that will work also. If your awards are not listed on you DD 214 you can get a new DD-214 with those honors listed have to mail or fax in a Form 149 with the Certification if you have them..

I am glad this exists. It is not an entitlement in the classic sense. You paid for it and it's just one more way "We The People" can recognize that effort.

So entitlements are okay as long as you're on the receiving end?

I kid. This is a good thing to do. You deserve free plates. As far as I'm concerned you already paid for them.

You can also get Veteran Driver's Licenses too. i was just reading about it the other day on the BMV website when looking up my nearest location. they use it to track veterans and stuff.

right now i have Army plates, i'll be keeping those(and paying for them haha).

As far as I'm concerned you already paid for them.
