Bengals coming off a good hard nosed defensive battle vs. Baltimore. The Panthers may even go with rookie Jimmy Clausen to start at QB. If that does happen then hopefully the Bengals D can rattle him into some turnovers. It was the Defense in Week 1 that was the week spot and the Offense moved the ball pretty well at times vs. New England. But in Week 2 the offense got great field position on a few drives and it only led to 5 FG's while the Defense played lights out creating 4 Turnovers..... Bengals should win this game

The Panthers are terrible, however with Clausen starting they might not have 5 turnovers. I might go to this one in Charlotte, even though I have no interest in either team.
Clausen is still a rookie starting his first game. This isn't the Bengals' D of old that might make a career day for a rookie. They should neutralize his WR's and have a better chance against a suspect offensive line. The key for Cincinnati will be scoring points. If they can put up 21+, it's all over.

I expect a pick 6 from Cincy's defense in this one.

That's what I'm thinking. Their defense likely will make life utter hell for Clausen.

Vegas is backing Clausen so far so I'll take the Panthers in this one.

Bengals Inactives for todays game
QB D. LeFevour, DE J. Fanene, CB A. Jones, T A. Smith, WR J. Simpson, RB C. Peerman, C R. Stephens, DE A. Odom
Adam Jones & Antwan Odom are key injuries for the Defense today, but hopefully with a rookie making his 1st NFL start the rest of the Defense can force Claussen into some INT's like they got vs. Flacco last week when they got 4 of them.

Then the Bengals pick it right back on the next play

Palmer blows. He is no longer a decent qb, yet he has the arrogance of a great qb. They need to find a replacement for him, this team could be really good with a better qb.

Palmer should have at least 4 INT's today
But I just hope this downpour is the cause for today...
Bengals fake the punt and get the 1st down

This makes me think back to those threads about 2-3 years ago about who would you rather have... Palmer or Favre.

I just don't understand any reasoning that makes this a 3 or 4 point game.

Bengals have ran 42 plays to Carolina's 16 and Bengals have a 10 - 0 lead w/ 1:10 left in the 1st half
