I was looking at some of the threads from last November when the site first started up, but every one of them is closed. Do threads automatically shut down after a while?

Yes, we have a few posters who like to resurrect old threads for absolutely no reason. Thus threads are locked automatically after a certain period of time to prevent such thread necromancy.

I think that thread is a staple of the OC.

I was very disappointed the "Things that enrage Heretic" thread was closed.

Reasons are quite clear.

It's something like 60 days with no activity that locks it, I think.
I personally don't see what the big deal is about stuff being resurrected, but I'm in the mod minority on that one.

It is? Damn! I'm pretty sure that thread was the primary reason I was actually ranked in FFT's last stat-deal for posters here. Then again, as a mod, I can always un-close it, I'd wager. Just so that when I die, I can rest in piece knowing that I've left something meaningful for future generations.

I think it'd be rest in peace, or maybe you meant rot in pieces?

Ah, I see. I am not sure why everyone has a problem with the occasional thread resurrection, and the reason I was looking was that with the one year anniversary looming in November I wanted to see some of those old rant threads about JJ.

Because there are some a-holes that take they're (purposefully misspelled for lotz) interwebz WAY too seriously, and it pisses them off when people mess with it. "Oh noes! I gots ta click on da page two to gets my boobs thread. I better type fuck a bunch!"

You can still see and read them. Click on the thread. Not very difficult.
