GlenOak coach Scott Garcia recieved a phone call recently from Jim Tressel informing him that Ohio State will be officially offering Brionte Dunn a scholarship when the rules allow HS juniors to be offered. This should come as a surprise to nobody, the kid is VERY deserving.

Now, since it is common knowledge that the young man is a "transfer" from Alliance, combined with the situation that took place in North Canton a couple of years ago, I question this quote from the young man regarding the news of the offer. " Wednesday night it was tough to sleep", Dunn said, " I just called my family and told them all about it."

To me this begs the question, where is the young man staying that he had to CALL his family? Do we have another Hertler/Howard situation.

Maybe by family he's talking about aunts, uncles, etc, as well. I know if I had big news, I'm close with my family, and they would be included in the phone calls.

Ah....Maybe.

2) Do you really want to bring up the Hurtler/Howard debate? Because you will lose again.
3) I guess someone who has no family would not know anything about "Extended" family. Chiefs makes a good point. News like this would warrant a call to every living decedent I have!!

I will answer your questions and address your comments in the order you asked/made them.

#1 I guess I have not. You know that if anything like the Hertler/Howard situation, or, for that matter, the Dunn "transfer" to GlenOak, had taken place in Massillon, it would STILL be front page news....And Porters WHOLE page would be covered with every move they made.

#2 I would think that being a Hoover fan, by now you would know how to spell Hertlers name. It's Hertler, not Hurtler. Furthermore, aren't you the one who said, "Howard will be in Columbus next fall"? And that was LAST fall. By the way, who was it that ended Howards career again?

#3 I'm quite sure the Caller ID feature would be used extensively should you call "every living decendent" you have.

#4 Grabbing? I think you mean Grasping, and no....I'm not. When the OHSAA investigates, and finds wrong doing, maybe this time they'll do something.

#5 You weren't too worried about bad things being said about 17 year old kids when you were talking about Justin Turner now were you?

And yes, we are talking about a teenager here, just like the teenagers who transfer to Massillon who get slammed on relentlessly.

Not crying at all....Massillon won that game, (of course they did, GlenOak is from the Federal League), if you look closer in my original post, you'll see that I said that the young man was very deserving.

Furthermore, I'm ALWAYS worried about my team winning games....But why are YOU?
