Coshocton won the region 15 last year but lost some offence. They will still be a competitor for region 15 but can they win it again? Can zack shaw the linbacker commited to indiana lead them to the final four again? we will have to wait and see

I tried to find the thread I started at the beginning of the season, which already had some chatter, but I ran out of patience. Maybe we can strum up some discourse on this thread.

Current:

1 5-0 Ironton-The Johnathan Alder and Bishop Hartley games should be fun to watch. (10-0)
2 4-1 Heath- Just pummeled Newark Catholic 40-7;game against Granville should afford some points.(9-1)
3 4-1 Bishop Hartley-Ironton game looms; probably only loss remaining.(8-2)
4 4-1 Amanda-Clearcreek-Tough games against Canal and Hamilton Township; Might drop both(7-3)
5 5-0 Portsmouth West-Haven't played anyone; Minford and Valley coming.Need a split.(9-1)
6 4-1 Johnstown-Monroe-Frederickstown this week and the game is winnable. Other 4 easy W's.(9-1)
7 4-1 Coshocton-5 wins look likely(9-1)
8 2-3 Portsmouth-Wins over teams who have played worse teams.Ironton,Galia Academy,and Jackson left.(5-5)
9 4-1 Alexander-Soft schedule throughout; Could make it but Nelsonville York likely to derail(7-3)
10 3-2 Unioto-Piketon this week and a win is needed.(7-3)
11 4-1 Piketon-Unioto this week and Westfall week 10. Games are a toss-up at this point.(9-1)
12 3-2 Westfall-Points still on the schedule. Piketon week 10.(7-3)
13 2-3 Wellson-Lost to three quality clubs; Nelsonville York this week.(6-4)
14. 3-2 River Valley-Another 'L' coming against North Union; Also play Highland. (6-4)
15. 3-2 Highland- Played Frederickstown tough. Cardington Lincoln a must win this week (8-2).

R15 This week: Lots of big games outside the region. Only matchup in top 15 is:

# 10 Unioto vs. #11 Piketon

Prediction(Non Mathematical) after week 10 is through

1. Ironton
2. Heath
3. Hartley
4. Johnstown Monroe
5. Coshocton
6. Portsmouth West
7. Piketon
8. Highland

Heath is for real. I think thay are even better than last year. They need their qb to stay healthy though. Everything goes through him. They should finish 9-1.

Coshocton will go 8-2. The only remaining loss will come against Dover. However, Dover does look vulnerable this year so it's possible Coshocton can go 9-1.

How good do you think Coshocton is? Can they repeat as regional champ?

i go to every game as a student of coshocton and they are definetly not as good as last year. they lost alot of offense in starting rb marcus johnston, and dominique mccluskey. or top runners are jj mckay and zack shaw(who comitted to indiana as a LB) i see us going 9-1 or 8-2 and maybe going 2 deep in playoffs.

Heath was up 45-6 going into the 4th against Whitehall. They tacked on a couple cosmetic scores in the 4th. I can't see them losing again this year.

15 3-3 1314 Caledonia River Valley 4.5000 13.5 22.5 100

Portsmouth West may not have played too tough a schedule yet, but with Minford, Valley and Burg coming up they will make a big push. Trust me, Pendleton is a load. Ironton just seems to be on another level right now.

Piketon picked up a good win over Unioto.

Week 7

#1 (5-1) Ironton @ (5-1) Jackson

- I think the Tigers squeak one out at Alumni Stadium.

#2 (5-1) Heath @ (3-3) Columbus Academy

- Heath wins this one in convincing fashion.

#3 (5-1) Bishop Hartley @ (5-1) Thurgood Marshall

- The cupcake schedule of TM will show this week. Hartley by +2 td's.

#4 (5-1) Coshocton vs. (3-3) Maysville

- Redskins take this one easily. They'll be a tough out for anyone in R15.

#5 (6-0) Portsmouth West @ Minford

- Don't be surprised if the Falcons grab the W. Senators are the slight favorites although.

#6 (4-2) Amanda-Clearcreek @ (5-1) Hamilton Twp.

- The Aces will be facing a tough test this week, but they should defeat the Rangers by atleast 10.

#7 (5-1) Alexander @ #13 (2-4) Wellston

- Don't let the Rockets record fool you. They've played one beast of a schedule, while Sparty has done the opposite. Look for the home crowd at CH Jones Field to be celebrating by nights-end. Wellston.

#8 (4-2) Highland @ (3-3) Buckeye Valley

- Highland in a close one.

Other games of interest this week:

#10 Portsmouth @ Marietta - Ptown.

#12 Johnstown-Monroe vs. #16 Utica - Johnnies.

#14 Unioto vs. Adena - Unioto.

My personal opinion.

#1 Ironton loses to Jackson...Are the Tigers more vulnerable than previously thought?

#2 Heath punches CA in the mouth 43-14...CA still has two DIII cupcakes on the schedule for nice L2 points.

#5 Portsmouth West wins over Minford to add some nice points.

#6 Amanda CC loses to Hamilton Township.

#12 Johnstown is eliminated after the loss to Utica. Utica COULD make the playoffs if they were to somehow beat the Freddies next Friday.

#1 Ironton lost a close one in 3ot to (5-1) D3 Jackson. Not a bad loss, but Coach Lutz better have the Tigers ready for Hartley this week.

#2 Heath smashed CA.

#3 Bishop Hartley took down Thurgood 38-14 tonight.

#4 Coshocton soundly defeated Maysville.

#5 Portsmouth West received a boatload of points from Minford.

#6 Amanda Clearcreek was dropped by HT.

#7 Alexander took #13 Wellston's playoff hopes away from them.

#8 Highland blanked Buckeye Valley.

#9 Piketon beat Paint Valley.

#10 Portsmouth tamed the Tigers of Marietta.

#11 Westfall took down Zane Trace.

#12 Johnstown Monroe dropped one to #16 Utica.

#13 Wellston lost a hard fought battle to #7 Alexander.

#14 Unioto was killed by Adena.

#15 River Valley snuck past Mount Gilead.

#1 Ironton cruises past Hartley. I was mildly surprised at the score.

#2 Heath wins by 10. If Heath wants to win the region, they need to clean up a few issues.

#3 Bishop Hartley loses to Ironton. The deficit is more worrisome than the loss.

#4 Portsmouth West fell for the first time this week. Might need to win against Wheelersburg.

#5 This week is Dover for Coshocton.

#6 Highland gets the expected win

#7 Alexander gets a big win over Athens. It looks like they might make it even with a loss to NY.

#8 Portsmouth is crushed. Could lose out.

#9 Westfall was crushed by Adena. Makes things interesting with both Piketon and Westfall losing.

#10 Amanda Clearcreek picked up a big W over Teays Valley

New 8

1.Ironton
2.Heath
3.Bishop Hartley
4.Coshocton
5.Portsmouth West
6.Alexander
7.Highland
8.Amanda

Coshocton always has issues with Dover, but will go 8-2. Will they get in? It'll be tight.

Top 8 according to Joe Eitel

#1 Ironton
#2 Heath
#3 Hartley
#4 Portsmouth West
#5 Coshocton/Albany Alexander
#7 Amanda-Clearcreek
#8 Highland

The fight for the 8th spot is really going to be fun to watch with Pleasant, Johnstown-Monroe and Westfall all having shots at taking it from Highland.

The only way Pleasant could catch Highland is if Highland would lose one of their final two games, isn't it? Both lost their non-conference game and to North Union. Highland beat Pleasant. So, they'd both get all the same points with Highland also getting points for beating Pleasant.

Pleasant has to hope for a Mount Gilead or RV win against Highland.

Westfall could be a wildcard in this is if they beat Piketon in Week 10.

Two weeks left until the 2nd season:

#1 Ironton - Will beat both Fairbanks and Portsmouth.

#2 Heath - Will mow down Bexley and mop the floor with Lakewood.

#3 Bishop Hartley - The jv's will take care of Spencerville, and they will win their annual battle against Ready.

#4 Portsmouth West - The Senators have a warmup with Northwest this week, before hosting Wheelersburg in week 10. Look for an intense battle then.

#5a Coshocton - HUGE game this week with Dover. It'll be a very close game, and they should take care of River View week 10.

#5b Alexander - The Spartans travel to Boston Field Friday to entertain the Nelsonville-York Buckeyes. Should be a dandy. Meigs visits Albany in week 10, in which Alex should defeat the visiting Mauraders.

#7 Amanda Clearcreek - The Aces will beat Fairfield Union and Bloom Carroll. Easy picks.

#8 Highland - MAY get a game out of Mount Gilead this week. The real test is week 10 against River Valley.

#9 Pleasant - Shouldn't have too much trouble with Elgin. Northmor won't be a difficult matchup.

#10 Johnstown Monroe - The Johnnies will defeat East Knox, and take down Northridge swiftly.

#11 Westfall - Huntington provides nearly zero points, while week 10 versus the Redstreaks of Piketon will be a good one. The Mustangs need help to make it, but wayyy stranger things have happened.

After that ^^, I don't see anyone else having a shot at making the playoffs.

Dover has historically had Coshocton's number. On paper if there is to be a year that Coshocton has a chance at beating Dover it would be this year. IF Coshocton can pull off an upset at Dover Crater Stadium, Coshocton will all but lock a playoff spot regardless of what happens in Week 10. If Coshocton loses to Dover they most assuredly will beat River View and could slide into the #7 or 8 slot with some second-level help.

Dover must beat Coshocton and New Philadelphia and then hope for some help to see action in Week 11.
