Biggest Bar Night of the Year

Tonight - the night before Thanksgiving - is regarded in many circles as the biggest bar night of the year: bigger than the 4th of July, bigger than Cinco de Mayo, bigger than New Year's Eve, even bigger than St. Patrick's Day. Friends and family who have moved away for college or work all return "home" and reunions are set at local watering holes far and wide.

Who all's planning on hitting the town in their old stomping grounds tonight...?

With this said, be mindful that cops know how popular tonight is, as well, so hopefully everyone's making smart decisions and calling taxis or designating drivers.

I'd also recommend drinking in relative moderation so you actually feel like eating tomorrow and so that grandma can't tell how hungover you really are.

;)

I won't be making it out tonight. We are hosting Thanksgiving and I've still got a ton of stuff to get finished up.

Not really a fan, nothing like going to your hometown and seeing all the townies you went to high school with that you never wanted to see again and drinking at crappy bars. But its the only time you can see the friends you want to see who are home.

Those are the worst hours ever! Health care job? Seems pretty comparable to my fiancees nursing schedule.

As for the topic. If I didn't like you 10 years ago in high school odds are I still don't like you now. Why do I want to spend all night in some overcrowded bar waiting 20 minutes for a beer pretending I care about what you've done since high school?

Hotel. Ever stay at a hotel and it seems like the same person is working the desk when you check in and then again when you check out the next day? Yeah that's my life.

I tend to be a contrarian in that if a lot of people are flocking to the bar it's not the place I want to be.

Enjoy it while you can. Soon you'll have responsibilities and going out the night before will be a distant memory. Sucks getting old.

I'm married, and quit drinking for a while, so I won't be going out. But I do miss those days :(

Did that gig for about 10 solid years. Was fun at the time, but don't really miss it...

Used to do this every year. But haven't in the last 5 years. It is definately a good party night. But the cops know this as well.

There are no bars in my hometown unless you count the Legion (of which I am a member of course).
