Hopefully we can get some offense out of someone not named Jay Bruce or Joey Votto .... Hoping Phillips can break out of his slump he's been in lately... Hopefully Bailey can continue what he did his last start out as well.
Starting Pitchers:
Joe Saunders ( 2 - 5 ) 4.88 ERA Vs. Homer Bailey ( 3 - 3 ) 4.70 ERA
Reds Lineup:
Phillips 2B
Cabrera SS
Votto 1B
Gomes LF
Cairo 3B
Stubbs CF
Bloomquist RF
Hanigan C
Bailey P

Saunders is a lefty that RH batters rake. Not a bad move, although I can't say I'm too excited to go to the park to see this lineup.

From John Fay:
Rolen has stiffness in his upper back and neck. Did it on second last at-bat last night. He's day to day.
Also... Willie Bloomquist is a career 0 - 11 vs. Saunders

How many days did Votto miss with his "stiff neck"? Wasn't it like 10 or so?

I'm hoping Rolen misses 10 games..he needs a rest, he's been awful.

Rolen could use the rest so hopefully he is limited in his playing time between now and the playoffs.
Why in the world would Dusty start Bloomquist (0-11) over Bruce? I get that Bloomquist is a righty, but 0-11. Oh for eleven.

It's one of those "gut feeling/toothpick told him to" sort of things.

Why risk injury to Bruce? He just came back, we all know how bad he can look against LHP, those swings could reaggravate the injury.
Pads are about to lose to the Rockies, so the Reds will be tied for 2nd best record.

Is Homer's shoulder a problem again? Most he can muster so far is 88-89 on his fastballs.

There's 4 90 mph fastballs to K LaRoche.

Reds taking advantage of shoddy defense! Three poor plays by the LF, and the error by the CF.

Well maybe not with 69 pitches and not even through 3.

Bailey should be out of this game now, no sense of blowing this 5-0 lead.... Which is now 5-2

With the Wood and Bailey performances the last two nights, Harang and Leake might be in the chase to be play-off starters!
