The Cardinals beat Louisville (Ky.) DuPont Manuel 34-7 with another dominant effort. Colerain tallied 415 yards of total offense while allowing just 139. Manuel rushed for two yards. 2. Glenville (3-0)
The Tarblooders had little trouble with Rhodes, winning 39-6. This week things get tougher with a long road trip and stiff test at undefeated Anderson. Previous: 2

3. Centerville (3-0)
The Elks held two-time defending Division IV state champion Kettering Alter and its offense, which was averaging 396.5 yards per game on the ground, to minus-2 yards rushing in a 24-7 win. This week the Elks face another test with Cleveland St. Ignatius (2-1) heading south. Previous: 4

4. Pickerington Central (2-0)
The Tigers took the week off and had a bye. Now they get to entertain Fairfield County rival Lancaster (2-1), which is coming off a narrow 28-21 loss to St. Ignatius. 5. Cincinnati Moeller (3-0)

The Comets used two second half interception returns for TDs to beat host Mentor 31-21. Solon faces a huge test this week with a road game at undefeated Parma. Previous: 7

The Cougars lost last week and are still No. 1? Yes. How many other teams would win at Youngstown Ursuline? You can probably count them on your two hands. Five turnovers and a horrible first half offense did in the Cougars who fell 14-10. This week things don’t get any easier with another road trip to undefeated contender Walsh Jesuit. We’ll see in a couple days if MLC deserves this ranking. Previous: 1

2. Maple Heights (3-0)
The Mustangs have outscored foes 141-29 this season. In their most recent win – a 61-8 rout of Valley Forge – MH’s RB Devonte Ransom rushed for 210 yards and three TDs on just seven carries. This week the Mustangs hit the road for the third time this season and take on Cleveland Heights (1-2). Previous: 2

3. Winton Woods (2-1)
After their opening loss to Elder, the Warriors have put 102 points on the board, including 53 in their most recent victory – a 53-6 dismantling of Fairfield. This week is a good measuring stick for the Warriors as D-III No. 2 Columbus Watterson comes to town. Previous: 4

4. Trotwood-Madison (3-0)

Big Red beat rival Brooke (WV) 34-21 in a game that featured a first half fight and was tabbed the “Battle for the Bridge.” Big Red remained undefeated against West Virginia opponents since 1963, by running the ball 54 times for 293 yards. This week St. John’s College (1-1) from Washington, D.C. comes to Steubenville. Previous: 2

2. Watterson (3-0)
The Eagles cruised past Cathedral from Ontario, Canada 56-0. Things get decidedly more difficult this week with Watterson’s toughest test to date – a trip to D-II No. 4 Winton Woods (2-1) – looming. Previous: 4

3. Youngstown Mooney (2-1)
The Cardinals couldn’t beat their third straight D-I team and lost 37-3 to Lakewood St. Edward. It was Mooney’s worst loss since a 42-0 defeat to Warren Harding in 2002. Another tough one is on the docket this week with a trip to No. 4 Columbus DeSales scheduled. Previous: 3

4. Columbus DeSales (2-1)
The Stallions still own the series lead over New Albany, but last week’s 13-10 overtime loss stings. No time to reflect though. No. 3 Mooney comes to town this week and surprisingly the Cardinals are coming off a loss of their own – to Lakewood St. Edward. Previous: 1

5. Akron SVSM (2-1)
The Irish edged then No. 9 Buchtel 7-6, stopping the would-be game-winning two-point conversion with no time left. Whew. Indiana recruit Mark Murphy rushed for 40 yards and a TD and added an interception, but his biggest play came on the final snap when he and Joe Breiding stopped Buchtel’s two-point run short of the goal line. 7. Cincinnati McNicholas (3-0)
The Rockets appear to be Cincinnati’s best D-III team through three weeks and have posted back-to-back shutouts over New Richmond and Medway (Canada). Senior QB Matt Staubach has thrown for 118 yards (only 14 attempts on the season) and has rushed for 340 yards and six TDs. The Spartans are off to their best start since 2001. The Knights had their 32-game (on field) winning streak snapped with a 24-7 loss to D-I No. 4 Centerville. A crowd of 12,000-plus saw Centerville hold Alter to minus-2 yards rushing in the first meeting between the neighborhood rivals since 1967. Ouch is right. The simple fact of the matter is that NO D-IV team in Ohio is beating Centerville this year. The question IS can a D-IV team in Ohio beat Alter? This week the Knights travel to Purcell-Marian (1-2), which is the last team on their schedule (right now) with a losing record. Previous: 1

2. Kenton (3-0)
The Wildcats beat Lima Shawnee 54-14 as junior QB Maty Mauk completed 35-of-56 passes for 476 yards and seven TDs. Mauk has thrown for 16 TDs in three weeks. This week Kenton faces what will be its toughest remaining test until the playoffs begin – a trip to No. 8 and undefeated Ottawa-Glandorf. Previous: 2

3. Clinton-Massie (3-0)
The Falcons survived a trip to Plain City by edging host Jonathan Alder 28-27. Senior DE Charles Harpen blocked a PAT with less than two minutes to go to preserve the win. This week the Falcons, who had 304 yards rushing against the Pioneers, welcome Hillsboro (1-2) to Clarksville. Previous: 3

QB Tim Porter and Spencer Diedrich hooked up for two TDs as the Tigers beat Field 21-14. This week Chagrin Falls gets a good test with Aurora (2-1) coming to town. Previous: 7

The Titans have won their three games 104-13, but their first three opponents are a combined 0-9. Things change in a big way this week with No. 2 and undefeated Kenton coming to Ottawa. The Wildcats have scored 174 points. Previous: 8

The Rockets posted yet another impressive win, this one their first victory ever over Coldwater, 38-28. Anna led 35-14 in the second half. 3. Oak Hill (3-0)
The Oaks didn’t get much of a challenge from Rock Hill which fell 37-0. This week a much stiffer test awaits with Wellston coming to town. The Rockets are just 1-2 but have lost to undefeated Minford and Gallia Academy. In Week 5 the Oaks face Minford. Previous: 3

4. Cuyahoga Heights (3-0)
The Redskins kept their torrid pace by blasting Burton Berkshire 49-6. Junior QB Alex Zander completed 7-of-10 passes for 174 yards and two TDs. This week CH hits the road for a game at winless Newbury. Previous: 4

5. Patrick Henry (3-0)
The Patriots are averaging 42.6 points per game and just beat Montpelier 49-7. Lucas Rosebrook led the attack by rushing for 230 yards and three TDs. This week the offense should explode again at home against Liberty Center (1-2). Previous: 5

6. Lima Central Catholic (2-1)
The T-Birds rolled to a 55-7 win over Paulding with junior QB Tyler O’Connor accounting for 28 points. O’Connor threw three TD passes, ran for another score and kicked four PATs. This week LCC gets a good road test at Columbus Gove (2-1). Previous: 6

Just how good are the Bulldogs? It’s hard to tell. Bridgeport has outscored its opponents 129-7 and has two shut outs, the most recent a 47-0 decision over Conotton Valley. The trouble is Bridgeport’s opponents are a combined 0-9. This week the Bulldogs get a chance to beat a team with a winning record with Zanesville Rosecrans (1-2) heading to the river. 8. Mogadore (3-0)
With senior stud Kodey Chance still nursing an injured shoulder (and only playing limited minutes on defense), the Wildcats downed West Salem Northwestern 35-14. Senior QB Adam Schrank completed 7-of-11 passes for 98 yards and two TDs, while RBs Jake McAvinew (85 yards) and Gary Strain (76) did work on the ground. Senior RB Kaleb Goins posted his third straight game with over 180 yards rushing and the Cavaliers beat Indian Lake 34-6. This week a long road trip awaits with a game at Bloomdale Elmwood (2-1). Previous: 9

Clinton Massie being ranked in the top 10 is a joke. Myself and an ex high school football coach like to attend various high school games. Last week was the Alder vs. Massie game. Alder plain and simple gave them the game. Alder played sloppy. Massie was one deminsional running over right tackle the entire game. Alder should have adjusted quicker. Yea, Massie won the game, but we weren't too impressed. Look at Massie's two cupcake opponents week one and two. Alder beat 2 legit D1 opponents their first two games yet look where they're ranked. End of story.

Look out for Uniontown Lake in D-II They might be taking over Loouisvilles position as top dog in the Stark county area. Every year Stark county IMO has the best overall football in the USA. They just dont usually have one particular team stand out and win Big school state . But they have great schools in each division . It really is unique. Cinci has great football in the Big school catholic ranks but that consists of Kentucky and even Indiana and outlining counties . Stark county is the chit . Congrats to that county for such outstanding competitive football .

Shadyside won't get past Newark Catholic (most likely) so they won't make the state semis.

Love the top 4 teams in D-III. I wish they could play each other every year.

Im not a Shadyside fan but they beat a pretty good D-III team last week in Harrison Central so the jury is still out on whether they could beat NC. Bridgeport is very good this year .
