Which ones do/have you played? I used to play Ultima Online years ago, it was tons of fun. I know WOW is the hot game these days... but what does everyone think of it if they play and what will be next? I have never played any MMORPG other than Ultima Online.

I played UO for years (5 I think). I absolutely loved UO until T2A came out. It got too time consuming and everything was expensive. I played WOW for about a year and loved it also. Unfortunately, I am done with MMORPG's because I cannot dedicate the time of a part-time job to a video game anymore because in the long run, that's what it is.

I played Asheron's Call and Everquest back in high school, though never played Ultima Online.

Currently playing WoW, have been playing on and off since it was released.

I enjoy it, it isn't perfect, but it is, IMO, the best choice out there at the moment.

As with most MMO's, some of the questing can be horrendous, but they've done a great job with many other aspects of the game.

Huge world to explore, great content updates in-between expansions, events, "Achievements," raids and dungeons, etc., etc.

They have a new expansion scheduled, i'm hearing a summer/fall 2010 release for it.

Honestly, it is the best i've played, and i've played quite a few in my day. Basically the only games i play.

Some people like to hate on WoW, but you really can't argue with the success it has had. A wonderful, wonderful game, all in all, though like every MMO, it does have flaws.

But, i would recommend giving it a chance, if you've got the time. It isn't going anywhere, not for a long time still.

Not sure what the next "big" one is, though.

I played from about T2A to 2002 or 2003 or so.. I had a blast, but the game took a dive after Trammel came around. It was still a lot of fun though.

I played EQ1 for about a year, then EQOA came out for the PS2 and played that for a LONG time (2003-2009).

I played EQ2 shortly and WoW shortly, neither longer than a couple months, I just didn't care for them.

EQ1 was amazing and I only quit it to start EQOA when it came out in 2003. EQOA was amazing especially for those "casual" gamers like myself who couldn't/wouldn't spend 12 hours a day playing the game.

EQOA was a very good game. I poured too much time into that game. Still play WoW casually.

Trammel killed UO.
