I have a second gen Blackberry Curve that I got last year at Christmas and my upgrade is rolling around again. The BB has been a good phone, but I'm looking for something a little more on the capable side, such as an android phone. Of the two most prominent on sprint's network, the belle of the ball is obviously the EVO, but the Galaxy S (Epic 4G) has recently been released and many, many reviews I've read, people are saying it's the best phone they've ever owned. Which one should I choose? A little help from people in the know would be appreciated.

Had one, loved it. Not durable enough for me though lol. Broke 2 of them...have never broken another phone before or since. Just too delicate for my pocket.

The Evo is outstanding. I highly recommend it.

How's the touch response when typing? I'm not a full touchscreen kind of guy, I like a keyboard which is why I was slightly leaning toward the Epic, but with the size of screen the Evo has, I would think it would be easier for me to become adjusted to not having a physical keyboard.justincredible;484173 wrote:The Evo is outstanding. The Evo and Epic are both the boss phones for Sprint right now.
I'd take the Epic over the Evo....but I like a physical keyboard. The Evo was too big for my liking. I know I will get shit for this, but it still doesn't compare to iPhone, regarding the touch response. I've yet to mess with a phone that does.

The response is great. The only complaint I have with typing on it is that sometimes I miss the space bar and it doesn't catch it on the spell check.

The Evo and Epic are almost identical in size. Epic a little taller, Evo a little wider, Epic a little thicker. Evo just a half an ounce heavier.

Yeah, I got to hold both today at Best Buy, but the phones weren't on, so I didn't get to play with them. A trip to sprint will be in order for tomorrow I think. I appreciate the feedback though, it's kind of a bitchin' time to have an upgrade from sprint lol.

Yeah...honestly both are a little big for my liking. I've never really messed with the Epic, just in the store. My friend has the Evo...its massive in your pocket.

Have had the EVO since launch and love it. Android phone battery life sucks though.... Go to xda developer forums and android central and you can get a lot of good information on both phones!!!!!
My evo is fully rooted and running many apps. I'm running the verizon exclusive NFL mobile app which costs verizon customers $10/month free on my evo because i downloaded the apk and its not verizon phone so they cant charge me the vcast costs.... It's sweet app though, i can watch NFL redzone on sundays and listen to any and every nfl radio game broadcast. Very nice phone and once you learn the ropes, endless possibilities.....
