Apparently Molina couldn't handle it and got Davidson to kick the fan out. Why do the Cardinals continue to prove Phillips right if they took such offense to his comments? :)

From the article.
Ottow was cited for disorderly conduct by police and ejected. He said he was heckling Cardinals catcher Yadier Molina(notes).

“But I never swore at him,” Ottow said while handcuffed to a bench on Miller Park’s service level. “He just got the umpire to throw me out. We were bantering back and forth and I guess Molina couldn’t take it anymore.

“You’d think these guys would have tougher skin than that,” he said.
One word: BITCH.

The Brewers fan looks to be awesome.

As a professional athlete...you just have to ignore and play....part of the big bucks

I love fans who drink way too much and feel the need to scream at the players.....what normal functioning person does that?

Yes, Randy Johnson is awesome.

Indeed. This just further hammers Phillips point. It's one thing to not like it and give it back to the fan, but to have the umpire kick the fan out (which he doesn't have the power to do according to the rule book)?

I don't see a problem with it. I'm not one to heckle but I usually find it funny.

also....what umpire would do this? No way do I act on the fan unless he is yelling directly at me in an over the line way....yell all you want at the youngest Moilina.....he has to take it....yet he didn't

Somewhat off subject, but I was at the Giants/Reds series a few weeks back in San Francisco, during game 2 I was sitting in the first few rows along the left field line near the wall (extremely crappy seats). Anyways, a few rows behind us was a older person (the sex was unclear, it sounded like a woman, but looked like a 400 lb Pete Rose), who heckled Gomes most of the first few innings. It was never vulgar, but very loud, though Gomes didn't appear to hear it at all, but during the 3rd inning the usher told it to quiet down, then police escorted the heckler out in the 4th inning.
I doubt Gomes complained at all, as it just seemed that the Giants ushers were pricks in general, as a few other times during the series they told fans to quiet down when they were cheering, pretty ridiculous...

Before that incident and reading this thread, I had never heard of a fan getting ejected just for heckling a player...

That's lame, ejecting a fan for heckling.

Rednecks aren't allowed to be baseball fans? That's rough.

In honor of this dude to show my open-mindedness I will wear a similar outfit to the Reds game on Saturday and Sunday. Now I must go and look for Wayne's World clothing on Ebay.

Well, nice investigation into Molina's part in the whole deal. The umpire told Molina he was going to eject the fan and Yadi asked him why?. He also stated in an interview that he didn't hear anything derogatory from the fan and was himself baffled by the umpires action. So don't blame Molina for the umpires action. And for the record, Cueto fights like a little girl.

Why would I spend the time to investigate Molina's actions? When I posted this there was no record of Molina reacting to the ejection. What do you want me to do, find game tape, hope that there was footage of Davidson and Molina talking, and learn to read lips?

Yeah, because quoting and basing your assumptions on the quotes from drunk Brewer fan are so much more reliable.

Two things.

1. Learn to use the quote feature correctly.
2. Don't take this thread too seriously. Good lord.
