Penn State (1-0) at Alabama (1-0)

In week one Alabama whooped San Jose State 48-3, but could once again be playing without Mark Ingram in a game that will be much tougher. Despite not having the former Heisman winner, their receivers and running backs looked great.

Penn State hosted 1-AA Youngstown State and stomped them 44-14.

I give the clear edge to Alabama. They looked better against a better team, and they have a huge homefield advantage.

Alabama 31, Penn State 17

This will be ugly.

PSU with a FR QB going to Bama, UGLY.

Bama by atleast 21. PSU was the only B10 team that I thought was overrated this season.

I don't know if San Jose State is much better than Youngstown State, but I agree that the Tide will roll.

After the way PSU looked in the first half on Sat, I fully expect Alabama to dominate.

I will be rooting hard for Penn State.....the whole damn country could be rooting for Penn State.....Bama could sport the JoePa squad 14 points and they would still lose.

I will start the fact that I am huge Penn State fan, so my opinion may be a little biased. I also coached college football for 8 years and high school for a number of years as well, so I know a little about football. Penn State made one mistake on defense against YSU and gave up the long pass. They played base defense 99% of the game and let superior personnel win the game.

This game will be very different. I am sure Bama stayed very vanilla in their game. Penn State is solid on defense and will hang in tough against a very average QB. The run game will be tough even without Ingram, but the Lions will hang in there.

The Penn State offense will really struggle in this game. Their O-line is below average and that will spell trouble. I expect the score to be closer than some have said, but not the game. Anyone who has coached knows exactly what that means. I could see 17-7 or maybe 21-10. Unfortunately, I could also see this go 17-0 or 21-0 with Penn State having about 100 yds of offense if they can't block for the run and protect for the pass.

Bama without the Heisman trophy winner and arguably their best defensive player....I'll still go with Bama by double figures. Roll Tide.

Penn State is KILLING themselves! Two times in the Redzone, 1- interception, 2 - fumble, The score at worse should be 14-14.

This would be a game if Penn State didn't throw away points three times already. The freshman has made some dumb mistakes that he won't make later in the year.

You mean Bama is showing why they begged out of the original contract? They need time to cheat again, I mean recruit again. Please...the original date would have had Penn State with a 5th YR QB that finished #3 in the country with the Butkus Award winner. Would have been a much different outcome.

would have, could have, should have. Penn State was a top 25 team and they did not put on a good showing. I wasn't expecting them to win, but I wasn't expecting them to get embarrassed either.

3 trips to the redzone with 3 turnovers will do that. Put points on the board and the game looks different. Bama was definitely a better team, but Penn State had chances to make it a game.
