Tiger, thank you for posting this, I just heard and was about to post it myself. This is my Alma Mater, so it strikes very close to my heart. The team is in their second year under their new coach and they were on a huge rebound after last years 7-6 season which included their first bowl win in several years. Three other football players were also injured in this wreck.

Wyoming has been hit quite hard with tragety when it comes to their student athletes. In 2002, 8 members of their cross country team were killed on the same road near the same spot as this wreck when they were struck by a drunk driver.

Please keep Wyoming in your thoughts and prayers this season. They need it.

Mack Brown statement...Wyoming plays Texas on Saturday.
"Our hearts pour out to the University of Wyoming community, its football program and especially the families involved in the tragic accident," Mack Brown said in a statement. "It's such a sad day to see a life taken so early. Our thoughts go out to Ruben's family, and we pray for them and the families of the injured young men."

One of our high school students was killed last fall in a car wreck. It was the worst day of my life the next day when all the students came in and we watched as in a school of less than 220 grades 9-12 as they each found out that he had died that morning. I wouldn't wish this on anyone, my heart goes out to the rest of the team and his family.

this sucks.

i hate that stretch of road, drove it many times when i was working out there.

Hope these kids can rebound and honor their friend. I'm sure the school/Athletic Departmen will do something classy for him.
