BLOOMDALE — Elmwood rushed for 229 yards and the Royals got an early lead and made it stick in a 29-12 non-confernce win over Lakota Friday night.
After Mica Robinson got Elmwood (1-1) on the board with a safey, Jack Waldock had his hand in on two touchdowns as the Royals took a 15-0 halftime lead.
Waldock, who ran for 164 on 20 carries yards and was 6 of 13 passing for 62, scored on a 7-yard plunge in the first quarter and threw a 6-yard scoring pass to Jay Hannah in the second.
Nate Wacek, who gained 64 yards rushing, added Elmwood’s third touchdown from a yard out.
Waldock, who led Elmwood to its eighth win in nine games against Lakota (0-2), finished off the scoring with a 1-yard sneak.
Lakota, which rushed for 220 yards, but turned the ball over four times, was led by Chris Robbins (151 yards rushing), who scored on a 63-yard run.
