The beginning of CHAPMAINA starts tonight after a huge win last night hoping that we can keep building this lead the best we can right now before heading into St. Louis this weekend.. A couple transactions were made Nix was sent to the DL, and Volquez optioned to Dayton

Tonights Starters:

Yovani Gallardo ( 11 - 6 ) 3.50 ERA Vs. Aaron Harang ( 6 - 7 ) 5.02 ERA .... ( 0 - 2 ) 9.00 ERA in 2 minor league starts

Didn't the Reds hit Gallardo pretty hard last time? Hope that can happen again tonight!

Reds Lineup:

Stubbs CF
Valaika 2B
Votto 1B
Rolen 3B
Bruce RF
Heisey LF
Hanigan C
Janish SS
Harang P

Reds got 6 runs in 2.2 innings against Gallardo last time. That would be nice.

Gallardo only has 1 quality start in his last 6 starts.

I'm getting a bad feeling about tonight's game. I just cringe to see Harang taking the mound.

I think I am the only Reds fan actually looking forward to Harang starting.

I'm more anxious to see what Harang is going to do down the stretch... If he can throw like he did when he was the Ace of the staff just a couple years ago in September and possibly in the playoffs that will be huge in determining how far the Reds can go.

Reds win 8-4. Votto with 2 homers. Roldy pitches a perfect 7th.

Half hour to first pitch and this place is empty. Hopefully the walkup crowd is just still in line.

After his first few starts this season, Harang didn't actually pitch all that bad. His ERA was pretty much league average, and he'll throw around 6 innings a start while keeping the team in the game.
He's no longer top of the rotation material, but is still a solid Major League Starter. I'm glad he's back, as with Leake and Volquez falling apart, he'll be needed for the stretch run...
I'm thinking he'll throw 6 innings and give up 2 runs tonight, with the Reds winning 7-2...

As long as there are over 10 runs tonight, I don't care. :D Pretty cool to see the Reds actually in 1st place down the stretch though. Been a long time.

I agree with you, that_guy. Sure, I've got some bromance for Harang but he is still a solid pitcher that'll eat innings. He gets a bad rap from most.

I've got a nice seat in the shade just to the left of home plate, first row in the upper deck. Great view of Chapman if he does get the ball tonight.

Marty was saying on the radio last night that it's sad that the stadium was empty last night... I just took it as it was a monday night with kids back in school. But with Chapman there tonight I expected a bigger crowd. I wish I lived closer than the 3 hours from Cincy and I'd go a lot more

I don't understand the half-empty stadium. It's been 10 years since the Reds have been this good, you'd think fans would be flocking to the park to see them play. They are a fun team to watch as well and if you don't go for the pricy seating and skip the concessions, baseball's a fairly inexpensive entertainment option...

I drove 10 hours each way last week to see the Reds play 3 games, so it's kind of hard for me to understand why people living in Cinci won't go to the games....

Yes, that Fielder hit was an unlucky result for Harang, nonetheless, he has given up three hits and two balls that could easily have been hits were it not for great plays by Janish and Valaika.

Need to plate at least 2 this inning now.
