Where?
Bob Commings Field (GlenOak)

When?
Thursday, September 2nd, 2010 Kickoff 7:30

TV
Fox Sports Network

History
1982
Massillon 42
GlenOak 14 (GlenOak Federal League Champions)

1983
Massillon 17
GlenOak 15

1986
GlenOak 9
Massillon 7

1987
Massillon 21
GlenOak 7

1989
Massillon 16
GlenOak 6 (GlenOak Federal League Quad Champions)

2009
Massillon 35
GlenOak 10 (GlenOak Federal League Champions)

Massillon 138 points (23 ppg)
GlenOak 54 points (9 ppg)

Can Massillon stop Dunn & Hall?
Can GlenOak stop Smith, Olack & Winters/Reiman/Nalbach
Can Tonn put a rough first start behind him?
Can GlenOak put last years embarrasing loss behind them?

Massillon MUST establish a running game early to take some pressure off of the sophomore QB, while GlenOak MUST prove that they can throw the ball to keep 8 Massillon defenders out of the box.

Could a mod please fix the header to Massillon 0-1 instead of 1-0? Thanks.

im excited to see the final score from this one i think i can set the tone of the season for everyone off this game... im not sure who will win. Massillon is stunned from week one but more than likely focused now.. GlenOak however hasnt proven anything yet....

It pains me, but I like Massillon in this one. Last week Massillon played a very fast Butchel team, whereas Glenoak essentially played a scrimmage. This game is gonna seem slower for Massillon compared to last week, but it'll be faster for Glenoak. They really haven't played at full Friday Night game speed yet. This plays to the Tigers advantage for the first quarter or two until Glenoak adjusts. Also, Massillon is going to pissed and if they jump out to a quick lead they could start rolling and never give Glenoak a chance.

As much as I pull for Fed teams, and I hope I'm wrong about this one, but I think Glenoak falls.

Dunn's #'s for the game 28-34 carries, for 70-75 yds, 1 td. Can Merideth throw the ball on Massillon's talented secondary? If so, my prediction on Dunns #'s could be a little low....If not, they just could be a little high.

Too many story lines in this one to make a prediction. I believe the biggest question is not Massillon's QB....But GlenOaks.

I think this will be a hard game to call.... Massillon receivers (double trouble) for GO
Not sure GO has an answer for that. If GO can produce strong pass rush and some outside blitz could help. On the other hand GO running game produces what it is capable, Massillon offensive will not be on the field that much… Massillon defense has weakness…

As a GO fan and supporter … I live in the area … my heart is with GO …but the gut feeling goes to Massillon

I will follow my heart …not the Belly HAHAHHA

If Massillon loses tonight...on TV...after the Buchtel debacle...the wheels may come off their very promising season.

I don't see it happening. Massillon wins and looks to make a statement.

Heard they're expecting a big crowd. All seats sold out, school was selling standing-only tickets for the same $7 price. Expecting a few thousand standing room sales.

Glen Oak just scored again; start of the second quarter. It's not 21 - 7 Glen Oak.

Sounds like Massillon has a lot of trouble on defense and everyone was worried about the offense!

Let me start by saying I was totally wrong about Dunn, I saw him in week #1 and thought he was a little tentative to take a hit, the kid ran hard and is pretty fast. I believe he is the real deal, he broke tackles and ran over people all night.

I think Massillon's defense looked much better in the week 1 loss than in the week 2 win. Tonight, in the first half anyway, they hit Dunn alot at the line of scrimmage, but didn't wrap their arms, (alot of credit goes to Dunn though), after halftime they tackled better and played with a sense of urgency. Massillon's defense will be ok. You can't pin all of last weeks 29 pts. on the defense, remember a kick return and an interception return for a td, and I don't know how many drives started by Buchtel on our side of our own 40.

Offensively, Tonn looked much more comfortable in the pocket and threw some real nice balls, he did throw a couple of picks, but he also threw all 4 of the TD passes. Olack & Smith are the real deal, on the Tonn to Allman TD pass, Olack threw the block that allowed Allman to get into the endzone, Olack also had a catch where he went WAY up and pulled it down with one hand. The running game is where we need the most work, We need alot of work in every aspect of the game, but especially the running game. It's early, hopefully this gives Tonn and the Tigers the shot in the arm they need.
