Gorzelanny vs Cueto

You like to feel that the Reds will roll and win all 3 games or at least 2 easily.....but the breakdown in overall pitching scares me a little. Many players are tired and looking so......fortunately the Cubs bullpen is awful as long as we can get Gorzelanny out of there after 6 innings....game 1 should be ours.

Hell of a road trip......damn near every singel player stepped up...but our bullpen is a little weary. Masset however is a beast and Coco isn't looking too bad.

Reds 7
Cubs 4

Cueto needs to return to being Cueto....need 7 innings and 3 runs

Should be a great series. I wish Lou was coming, they had big plans for him.

I'm curious to see what the roster moves are. Nix and Leake/LeCure should be heading out.

I think our bullpen NEEDS Chapman.

I hope Ondrusek gets his confidence back soon. Rhodes will gut it out the best he can. Coco will pretty much always scare me....but he's been his best recently.

I'd like to see about 25+ runs from the Reds this weekend.

Offense needs to carry until pitching gets back.

Right now the only guys in the pen that are pitching well are Masset, Rhodes, and Coco. We NEED Chapman, you are correct I92.

Chapman has nothing else to prove and the Reds have not needed him more.

Simple math.

I think it's dumb to wait til Sept 1. Then they will be throwing him into the fire in St Louis. Maybe they don't want the Cards to see him but I'm sure they have scouts watching/ taking video.

This is the perfect time to bring him up and it would probably sell out the weekend.

What is there to scout?

Uh.....throws really hard and is a potential phenom.....make him work but getting to 2 strikes may be a risk as well.

I think he's still down working on his baserunning.

They will have a whole book/video on him. What pitches he throws in certain counts, arm slots, release points, pick off moves, etc.

I think that's what he was saying with "what is there to scout?"

Chapman is much much much more raw than RJ. Johnson went all the way through the minor leagues. I'm not saying Chapman isn't ready, but there will be ways big leaguers can exploit him, and that may take a few appearances to figure out so maybe they want him to come up in St Louis.

Last Friday Chapman had a pitch sequence that was 104, 104, 103, 88. I didn't believe the tweet I saw about it until I saw like 4 others about it.

Yup. It's time for Chapman. Bring him up. The bullpen needs him. There is nothing more to be gained from striking out guys like Shelly Duncan.

obviously Chapman i was completely unpolished and Johnson ended up being a shiny corvette.......but I was just trying to find a comparison of "stuff"

far more room for error when you nasty
